Advantages: Versatile and stimulating.

Disadvantages: Quite a lot of pieces.

My son got this game for Christmas and I have to say we have had hours of fun with it. He's only just turned two and the game is recommended for aged 3yrs and over but it's so versatile that we have been using it in different ways as well as the original game that it suggests to play.

In the box.
When you open the lid you will find:
4 shopping trolleys
4 pictured shopping lists
32 pictures of different foods.

All of the above are on really solid bits of card that would be very difficult to bend or mishape in any way.

How to play:
The instructions recommend the following:

1. Each players gets a shoppping trolley and a shopping list.
2. Turn all of the pieces of food over so you can't see the picture.
3. Each player gets a turn to try andfind a piece of food from their shopping list by tryin to remember where they have seen it.
4. The player that fills up their trolley with all of the correct pieces of food first, is the winner.

Noah always asks to get this game out of the cupboard and I am always happy to play it with him as I find it quite fun. If we play the game that is mentioned above then I only use a few selected pieces ad a couple of shopping lists because Noah is quite young and it does go a bit over his head when we play with all the pieces.

One of the things that we usually do with the pieces is to have them the right way up and still take it in turns to fill up our trolley. This still makes for a good game because when all of the pieces of food are laid out infront of us, there is quite a lot and it takes Noah a little while to actually look through them and find the piece he needs.

Noah really enjoys going through every single piece of food and finding out what it's called. If he knows the name he will say it but if he doesn't then he will ask me what it's called. This is great because although the pictures are drawn in 'Cartoon style' they are still realistic and recognisable so he's learning which food is which.

He also has taken to taking one of the trolleys and pushing it around the floor and furniture. The trolley hasn't even got proper wheels but he loves it. It cracks me up that he has tonnes of cars that would glide around the floor alot easier but he prefers taking the trolley! LOL!

I think Noah is learning alot through playing this game. I like the fact that he has to learn to take it in turns and it isn't all about him. Obviously at two years old this can be a struggle sometimes but most of the time he's pretty good and the more we play games like this one the more he will learn.

I get so fed up with toys that are so mindless. You know the ones, where you just press a button and that's the end of the fun. This game is nothing like that. It really gets Noah thinking about where each piece of food is and what it's called. I love the fact that it's really stimulating him and he really has to think bout what he's doing. I consider him to be very clever for his age and don't want him to lose that and get lazy although on the other hand don't want to be one of those parents that is constantly pushing him. This game combines fun with thinking and it's not only fun for him but I also love it because I enjoy seeing him learning new things.

I can't praise this game enough. It's very simple but I really think if you have children aged two to four then it's definately worth considering. The other great thing about this game is there are booster packs so when your child is bored of the food then you can pick up a 'Clothes' booster pack and the game becomes new all over again.

Summary: A great game for all the family.
