I've heard many people say bad things about the Ouija board. On asking them how they used it they always say the same thing, they treated it as a joke and had bad experiences.
I always use a protection spell before doing anything before contacting the spirit world it's common practise, many people who have bad experiences never do so. You have to remember that spirits do not come from the board, or a pendulum, or automatic writing etc., they come through YOU!

Anything that happens comes through your subconscious mind, regardless of what type of practise you use. Ouija is one of the most common used and most common misused pieces. The difference been it's ease of use over other methods, however you have no control over who comes through and there is no way of knowing if the spirit is truely who they say they are.

Because spirit contact comes through your subconscious and not the method you use, then obviously you can create your own problems. If you are worried or apprihencive when using ouija boards, or even have a lot of guilt about something you have done; you can often cause your own problems.

Never use the ouija board in jest and always be respectful or polite. If you have any worries or negative thoughts about/during ouija board use, it is always recomended to thank the spirits for their time and respectfully cease using it. Never take for granted that the spirit who comes through is who they say they are.

some type of closing ritual is also recomended to allow the spirit(s) to move back to their own world easier and quicker.

i just wanted to add alittle to my reveiw, now noone has critized me for making the ouija board sound safe (or maybe i didn't) if i did make it sound perfectly safe, my appologies. Like anything in this world nothing is completely safe, particularly if you are unprepared for what could happen.

Now as stated in the advan
tages part, i said it was easy to use. It was noted i didn't say more about that, this is simply to keep children safe. I could give you a full detailed view on how to use it, but in doing so a teenage or younger child may spot this and think "oh that's easy i will try that" and that person may have a bad experience - so i simply chose not to. The same reason i originally decided not to meantion you don't have to purchase one, there is nothing special about the way it is made. A piece of paper and a glass tumbler would work. (though i would seriously suggest not using anything glass or sharp - sometimes they device you use for pointing can litterally fly off the board)

The reason i originally wrote this review was because so many reviews were saying how evil/bad it is, i just wanted to be fair. Many people say it's the most dangerous type of spirit contact - infact, when used properly it is one of the safest. However i would agree 100% with anyone who says do not treat it as a toy, it certainly is not. For anyone out there who is interested in using the ouija board as a true way of contacting the spirits i ask you why? If you are simply trying to contact a loved one who has passed over - i would suggest a real medium or ask simple question using a pendulum. One thing i would suggest against, to any novice medium/spiritualist is automatic writing, as this actaully requires possession for the spirit to write through you.

- As for the type of protection spells you could use, there are so many out there that i would suggest using google or another search engine and look for one you are comfortable with. The easiest (not for everyone) is simply to close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing, once you feel you are relaxed just imagine a white light eminating from you and completely surrounding you and becoming a protective shield against any evil spirits.

- Also a few tips for spotting an imposter, while using the
board. Never ask a question that could be taken as a invite into your house or your body. any good spirit would not ask questions such as "may i visit you again" or ask whether you trust, love it. (not even a relative who passed over)

A demon or evil spirit knows what you are thinking, as i said in the original peice spirits contact you through your own subconscious so they do know everything about you (even a secret that only a relative would know). An evil spirit can often be caught out by it's bad spelling. It may sound odd, but demons are not good spellers - if anything misspells while you are using the ouija board it's always best to assume it's a evil spirit possing as someone else.

if you feel you are in contact with a spirit who is misleading you, simply turn the board over and effectively break contact.

I have also heard it say that a demon/evil spirit that wishes to posses you may pretend to be your friend, even go so far as to "help & protect" you. So becareful.

No type of spirit contact is safe, anyone who says otherwise is either misleaading you or just doesn't understand the dangers. Use the ouija board properly, protect yourself and be very cautious and aware and you should be able to avoid any bad experiences.
