When I walk into an arcade this is the first thing that I look for. It's bascially a game that consists of a few slots at the very top of the machine. The coins drop into a box which has two or three moving, silver shelves that are layered with either 2p's, 5p's or 10p's. If you get you your timing right then the coin that you drop in get's pushed into the pile of money and if you are lucky then it could push some coins over the edge into the pocket by your legs. You can then scream with joy as you collect up all your coins and throw them back into the machine again! The thing about this game is it is really simple but really addictive. The penny falls is one of my number one games to play at any arcade or fair I go to. These days the minimum you play with is 2p, so the name could do with an update really! The game presents you with two or three moving metal shelves. Each shelf is full to the brim with coins. The shelves move back and forward, with the lip of each one brushing up against the coins on the shelf below, but not knocking them forward. The aim of the game if to put money into a slot at the top of the game, where it will fall onto the top shelf. When timed right, this will push into coins, making them fall onto shelf two, and those coins will push others forward, off ... Read the complete review

And the penny drops ... right on top of that huge pile you've been contributing to for the past few hours. That's right, surely you've played these before? The arcade industry calls them 'pushers' and they form a large part of the floor of any respectable arcade. Huge cabinets, from the tatty to the classy and imaginative. A simple game, take a look through the machines large glass windows - those are 2p's right? So, off you trot to the change counter. You are greeted by a withered old woman, she says ".... ...." - oh, thats right, she doesn't speak, she just gives change. A few moments later your gambling back to the machine already ...
