Advantages: lots of fun for everyone. You can vary the rules and it will still work

Disadvantages: none, it doesn't even matter if you can't draw

With it still practically being Christmas and all, I thought I'd write about an excellent game which becomes especially excellent, at this festive time of year. I'm not really 100% sure on the rules, but that really doesn't matter with this game. As long as you have a basic idea, its a great fun for all the family to play.

The game revolves around 2 teams (even though the box might state otherwise) which can be made up of as many people as you like (as long as they can all see clearly). Then one person is nominated from each team as the 'artiste'. Then a card is picked and a dice is rolled. The cards contain subjects from 6 categories. These caregories contain things such as films and songs, or things like common phrases. Each category on the card is given a colour (so there are 6 colours). The die (obviously with 6 sides), has 6 coloured spots (1 on each side). So when the die is rolled, a colour, instaed of a number will be left face-up. The corisponding colours can then be matched and a category is randomly picked off of the chosen card. Everyone can be told the category name, but no-one except the 2 'artistes' (or granny and grandpa in normal talk!!) can know what the saying or phrase is.

This is where the fun starts. The 2 drawing people now start to (without saying a word (or writing one) - very important) try and explain to their team members, with the use of hand drawn diagrams, what the phrase or saying is. This is all done against the clock, which is supplied in the form af a mini egg-timer. The winning team is the one who can identify the saying or phrase being explained to them, in the fastest time (but before the time rns out).

It can be a very fast, furious and funny (especially if Grannys had a few too many sherries!!) game. You really have to shout out things (but without giving too many ideas to the other team). Saying what you see until, with the aid of the superbly drawn d
iagrams, you finally get it.

The great things about it are:

The rules. They're so easy!! You can really play around with them actually and basically make up your own game with the stuff thats provided.

Ease of setting up. All you need are a few pens, some paper (if you haven't been supplied with a wipe clean sheet.

You can play with just about as many people as you like. Its not even that important for teams to be of the same size.

Its an excuse to shout a for a bit, without getting told off.

You can play for as long as you want really. Make it first team to 10 or 20 or 1000 or whatever.
