Advantages: Really good fun, and can be played to a very high level

Disadvantages: Some people just don't get it

Being a former (ice) hockey player I have collected a fair bit of hockey related things over the years but this is one of the coolest things I have had.

It's probably seen in the UK as a child's toy, but back in the Us and Canada these table top hockey games can cost a lot of money depending on the detail and quality of material etc.

Each player on the "ice" can be moved along a slot cut into the table top, they can also be rotated by twisting the hand control (each player has one), the goalies can be moved side to side.

As mentioned each player has it's own slot that they can move along, this means between each players of your team the whole ice can be reached. There are no spots where the (out of proportion for ease of play) puck goes that it can't be reached by a player.

With some practice this game can be played to a very skilful standard, with accurate passing and shooting.

Also as mentioned earlier, this game can be bought in different "trim" from the most basic, to some models with full plastic dome covering the playing area, with correct player name and numbers on the jerseys. Also extra teams can be bought.

When not being used this also makes a nice ornament for the office or games room.

This is a really fun game.

Summary: This is a blast with a group of friends, and it's easy enough that kids can play
