Advantages: great fun
Disadvantages: falls off its base
I used to have this game when I was a child and my little sister got this game for christmas this year, since then we have been roped into playing it with her many times as she loves it.
This game costs roughly £10 depending on where you buy it from, in the box you get a plastic barel with holes in the sides, a blue plastic base to stand the barrel on, a pirate and 24 plastic swords.
There isnt realy a lot of assembly involved in this, you have 5 stickers to stick to the blue base and the swords need to be twisted off the plastic strip they are attached to and you are ready to play.
To set this game up you will need to stand the barrel on the base, put your pirate in the hole and push him down.
The aim of the game is to put the swords into the holes on the out side of the barrel but be careful as one of the holes will make the pirate jump out of the barrel, the person who makes the pirate jump out looses.
You need 2 or 4 players to play this game as there are 4 diferent coloured swords, red, yellow, blue and green, and 6 of each colour.
This game is fun to play, my little sister screams with excitement every time the pirate jumps out.
This game does have its problems though but only minor, the barrel just sits on the base so falls off very easily when you are trying to push the swords in as they have a little clip on them that has to click in which my sister finds difficult.
I dont remember mine as a child having a base or the swords being difficult to clip in, this is designed for ages 4 and over which I think is about right and doesnt require any batteries as it works on a spring.
