Advantages: easy to set up, great fun, always element of surprise

This is one of those games that has been round absolute ages but is still as popular as ever, I think it usually retails about £9.99, but we paid £6.99 last xmas in the sale and bought it for my son, who who was nearly 3, although the recommended age is 4+ he still loves it and soon got the hang of it.

The game is for 2-4 players and very easy to use and set up yet remains great fun.

To set up you simply take the blue base, place the barrel on top, push down the trigger inside, insert the pirate and your ready to start. Their are 4 different colour swords, blue, red, green and yellow. Each player then takes it in to turn to insert a sword in to one of the slits, ensuring it is fully pressed in, play then continues player by player until someone makes the wrong move and puts the sword into the wrong hole making the pirate jump up out of the barrel, suprising all. You can play it over and over again, as the hole is never the same and the element of suprise is always there as you never know when it will pop up.

The only problem we had was that my son being a bit young didnt always push them right in, so we would end the game without the pirate popping up to discover one of his wasnt pushed right in. A year on and he still plays it regularly and loves it.

A great game for all the family and a great game to get littles ones interested in playing games and taking turns.
