Red Kite Dinosaurs Playing Cards
Advantages: Dinosaur fans will love them.
Disadvantages: rather expensive for playing cards.
We recently took another visit to one of my kid's favourite places for day trips, and that is the natural history museum. we always have a wander around the numerous gift shops scattered around the museum and I like to buy both my boys a little gift as a treat and also if my son knows that we are going he hoards his pocket money because he loves the dinosaur gifts, even though they are a little on the expensive side, I have always found them to be very good value in comparison to other tourist attractions in London. Well we went around a week ago and my son only had one week's pocket money of £5.00 as it was a last minute trip.
Finding a gift five pound and under is quite easy, as there are a lot of pocket money gifts available. My son took ages deciding which item to buy and finally decided on these. They cost £5.00 and are regular sized playing cards approximately 10cmx5cm. The packaging is the regular thin cardboard that is used to place your cards in for storage and a way of keeping the cards together and it has a dinosaur eye peering at you from the front of the pack. The lower half is orange with `dinosaur playing cards` printed in white. The natural history museum logo and name are printed in the top left hand corner of the front. The rear has dinosaur scales and a picture of a few of the playing cards printed on it. The box is then wrapped in cellophane to protect it prior to opening.
The cards are a red kite product by the green board game company whose address is:
The green board game co. ltd
Bucks HP12 3RP
Email address is: www.greenboardgames.com
There are fifty three cards, the standard playing cards and an additional card advertising another dinosaur product and the rear of each card has the same yellow scaly dinosaur eye peering at you that is printed on the packet. All of the cards excepting the royal cards and jokers are simple playing cards in the regular suits of clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades. The royal cards and joker cards have instead of the pictures that are usually printed on them, a selection of dinosaurs. The jokers have stegosaurus pictures, kings have t-rexs, the other two dinosaurs I'm not sure what they are sorry. These are also wrapped in cellophane.
My son loves playing cards and when he saw these thought they were great, you can play all the normal games with them snap, rummy, pontoon and, many more. The pictures only enhance play they do not hinder their uses in any way. He has played with these a few times since he purchased them and they seem quite well made although most cards are pretty much the same. These make card playing even more fun and with my sons obsession with dinosaurs makes them really popular. They would make wonderful stocking filler for dinosaur freaks...lol!
They are available in the museum for £5.00 but equally you could buy them online at www.amazon.co.uk for £4.00.
The product code is 70002
Barcode: 5025822 70025
Overall they are expensive for playing cards but my son loves them more because of the dinosaurs, we have many packs of playing cards and if we play cards these tend to come out first. I would definitely buy them again and definitely recommend.
Summary: Great little playing cards for dino fans.
