Scrabble is a great game and can be played by all ages (although the box says 10+) Even with children as young as 6 you can have a game using only 3 or 4 letter words.

Scrabble is a game for 2-4 people. It costs around £15 to buy from Amazon delivered and would be a great educational present for any child. The aim of the game is to score the most points using the letters available on your line. 7 tiles are picked at random at the start of the game, as you put words down you pick up tiles to make up to 7 again each time.

Each letter has a value, the harder a word is to make with that letter the higher its value. A scorepad is provided in the box to jot down scores of each word. Some squares on the board have a higher vaue such as double word or tripple letter scores. These can be useful to build up your score.

This is not just a great game for Literacy skills but also numeracy, adding up points then adding them onto your score. This is a great all round eductional game.

Summary: great game for all ages
