Advantages: Good game as Brucie says.

Disadvantages: Not a single one.

Snakes & Ladders! That takes me back. OK You all know the rules, you have all played this game, so why are you reading this review. Fair question, but the other question is, why am I writing it?

The answer to this one is on so many levels.

I start with the fact that this game is easy, so easy in fact that you do not need instructions, you could get people who have never seen a board game before, to play around and have a good time. Age is immaterial, so is gender.

it is a small game to stow away, so you never throw it away to create more space, In the old games, the board folded in half, whereas the new ones actually fold into quarters, so the box is very small.

It is one of those games that actually bring a family together, rather than causing kids to argue. This is I think the main reason that this game will be with us, in some form, in a hundred years time.

The Idea of course, is to reach a ladder and therefore go upwards towards the winning post, and no doubt everyone at some time during the game will land on the head of a snake, beginning the slide downwards, back towards the start.

There is absolutely nothing you can do about where you land, it really is down to the throw of a dice, meaning that little Jimmy of six, can beat fair & square his Professor Dad. This is a Family game (Note the capital F) Skill is not involved in the process.

Anything that can bring a Family together gets my vote, and I can not think of a games console or a PC that can do this like good old Snakes & Ladders.

I rest my case.

Summary: Good Classic Family game.

Board games like this are under-rated in their educational benefits. Nice one, Caroline xx
