SOMETHING TO DO ON YOUR OWN. I was perusing the categories for something simple to write about that would not take a lot of time or energy, as work is exhausting at the moment with Christmas preparations, plays, parties, visits to Santa, carol concerts and so on. With new grandchild to dote on and Christmas to prepare at my mums house she is getting old I take everything there prepared and cook for the family. Well enough of my personal trials this is where i get away from it all and earn a few extra pennies to spoil my grandson with. Solitaire is a game I remember from my early childhood my grandparents had one the kept in their sitting room I would frequently play it. Theirs was a solid marble (I remember it as so) circular tray with 33 indentations in it to sit the marbles on. When I played I left the centre hole free. The idea is to jump marbles over another into an empty hole and then remove the marble you have just jumped over not a game requiring a lot of skill, When you are left with only one marble you have won. There are only certain formulas that work so maybe it’s not all that easy. It helps children with manual dexterity, the ability to pick up and move marbles and also assists with helping them concentrate. It is a useful little toy/game to ease a little boredom not very expensive about £1.50p upwards. Could be a stocking filler This game is available as a small travel game its a small board with pegs that stick in it. I don’t think I own one at the moment but have in the past. Thanks for reading. A happy Christmas to you all
