Advantages: physical
Disadvantages: lots
My brother got this for Christmas one year and I was always dragged into playing it with him despite the fact that I hated football and the game has to be one of the most boring things I have ever participated in!
The game consists of a green mat made of material which represents the football pitch. There are two balls and then you have little models that are little men but have rounded bottoms. The whole point of the game is that you play football by flicking players so that they can 'kick' the ball. It's like a real football game in that you need to score goals but each player takes it in turns to flick.
In my opinion this game should have never been invented!!! It was the bane of my childhood and even now as a fully mature adult, I look back and wonder how it was ever commissioned. There are a few things that make it what it is.
1) The mat had to be perfectly flat for the game to function properly. If you have a lazy boy then it gets shoved in the box after a game resulted in lots of creases the next time you get it out of the box.
2) The technique of 'flicking' took some getting used and I was always rubbish. My players would be sent flying off the mat, off the table and onto the floor where they were no good to my team.
3) It was boring and even harder to get the ball down to your goal than it is in real life
4) The plastic players were so flimsy that they broke very easily without much persuasion at all.
There are two good points to this game and that is:
1) Its physical so you burn a few calories moving around the room.
2) It kept my brother entertained for more than five minutes and if my dad played with him then I'd get a free rein on the telly!
All in all this is a game that should have never been invented and it has scarred me for life. I would recommend that you stick to the real thing; you'll burn more calories and if you end up frustrated then at least you have someone to take it out on!
Summary: rubbish
