Advantages: Its small enough to pack in your suitcase and good for playing in hospitals

Disadvantages: Not much good for anywhere else as its so fiddly you'd likely lose the bits

Usefully for me they were selling this in a hospital shop during a boring stay. This is fiddly and you need to take extra care in packing it up.

Its hard to imagine when else someone would play this version, I definitely wouldn't recommend it for use in the car you'd be losing pieces everytime you moved your car even if you got it out for the kids during a traffic jam. You also couldn't play it on a plane as it wouldn't really fit on your little table. Being able to play it in the hospital is very useful though. Although if you've got a drip in it might be difficult to manuveur but thats what visitors are there for.
I would probably suggest that a different version of this such as a DS version would be more suitable for travel but in principle its a good idea. However it is much smaller so if you are travelling abroad you'll get the board game experience abroad without having to take a huge box.

Summary: If you think you'll get the mileage out of this over the DS version then its perfect for you
