Advantages: very simple and fun game
Disadvantages: can cause bumps and bruises
Twister has to be the most fun game ever. It is suitable for children and adults and i have found that it is best played with four players, it makes the game more interesting and difficult as there are more arms and legs to get tangled up in.
The object of the game is to place your hands or feet on the coloured circles as directed and to be the last person standing.
The moves in the game are dependant on the spinner. There is one person who spins the spinner and gives directions to the players. The spinner has four sections to it- right hand and left hand and right leg and left leg. Then each of those sections are divided into four colours, these correspond with the coloured circles on the mat- red, yellow, green and blue.
How to play the game
Once you have decided who will be spinning the spinner, the other players stand on the edge of the mat with their feet on two different circles. The person then spins the spinner and tells everyone where it has landed and whether they have to move their foot or hand for example- left foot blue. Each player then has to follow directions given. If you are playing with two players only one player is allowed to use a circle at a time, they are not to use a circle between them. If you are playing with four players, you make two teams of two and both players from the same team can use a circle at the same time as each other if they want to. All other rules are the same regardless of how many people play. Once you have moved your hand or foot to a circle you are not allowed to move it until the next move is called. If all six circles of a colour are covered then you must to continue to spin until another colour comes up. If you are already on the coloured circle using your hand or foot and you have been given the same thing, you must move it to a different circle of the same colour.
The winner/winners is the person/team who is left standing at the end. The game is immediately over when a player falls on the floor or touches the mat with their knee or elbow.
There are no real strategies to the game, you just have to go along with the spinner and just try to make things awkward for the other player by taking circles that will mean they have to strtch around you.
To explain the game it does make it sound a little complicated but i have to say that this is one of the easiest games to play and set up.
There are no set time limits for this game, it can be a real quick game or a longer game depending on how long each player can hold on without falling over.
This is a great game for adults to play especially after having a drink, its a great party game. Everything seems much harder especially keeping your balance, but it also makes it a lot more fun. There is the risk that you wake up covered in bumps and bruises but hat is all part of the fun.
A great game that every household should have as there is so much fun to be had.
Summary: a great game for all ages
