Advantages: great harmless fun for al the family and so easy to play

Disadvantages: small bits can get lost

You all know Shrek... the big green lovable ogre immortalised by Dreamworks/Universal picture/Paramount pictures, (not the one who plays for Manchester United ...), well now he is starring in a rather weird, but very comical game called Shrek Bug Bounce.
As my kids love the Shrek saga, remember the movies with the big green ogre who turns out to be more of a charmer than first thought, they decided that they wanted this game when they saw it on the high street, even if they didn't know what the game entailed.
The box looked like it could be a fun game, with a strange image of the beloved Shrek staring at me, his big green face smiling like a madman, although looking a little different.
When we got it home I poured the pieces onto a table, checking everything was there...

** CONTENTS...

One rotating 'green Shrek' figure head
Four 'log' arms
40 small 'bugs' (ten of each colour, green, yellow, light green and orange)
Needs 2 AA batteries, which are not supplied.

The age for this game states to be 4 years and above, although slightly younger children could have a go if properly supervised as there are several tiny bits which could easily be swallowed.
It is a game for 2 to 4 players, although you could play it solo just for the practice and the fun.

** PLAYING THE GAME...

Once you have followed the instruction of how to insert the batteries and connect the 'Shrek' head to the 'log' arms you then have to place all the little coloured bugs onto the respective 'logs', then you simple set the 'shrek' head on by flicking a switch inside the green guys mouth.
Once the head is turning the players pick a 'bug' from their respective 'log' and place it on the leaf at the end of the 'log', then, as the head turns around, each player flips their 'bugs' at the revolving head, trying to get them into the opening and closing mouth as it spins.

The winner is the one who gets the most 'bugs' into Shreks mouth when all players have run out of their ten bugs.

** IN CONCLUSION...

If you like Shrek and you like playing silly games then this is a must for you.
It is one of them family games that anyone can play and which you will really get in to, finding it so comically brilliant indeed as the Wayne Rooney look-alike plastic model head slowly turns around, its mouths slowly opening and closing as it does so, coming round for you to take you chance in trying to get one of you little rubbery bugs into 'Shreks' gaping hole.

Playing the game is easy to do, being a simple matter of loading a coloured bug onto the springy 'leaf' at the end of your chosen trunk, then gently pulling it back and letting it go when 'Shreks' mouth comes around to you, hopefully flicking the bug into the gaping hole.
There is a little bit of skill involved, improving your hand-eye co-ordination, but after a few direct hits you'll soon get into the swing of things

The actual construction of the game seems solid enough with the pieces slotting together quite well, staying in place when needed whilst coming apart so as to pack the game away.
It is such a fun game for all the family, although do take care with smaller children, especially if they are in the habit of putting things in their mouths as the little rubbery bugs are easily swallowed.

As I said, it is a game that takes a little bit of skill to play, so do prepare yourself for a bit of frustration, especially from the kids if they keep missing Rooney's... I mean 'Shreks' mouth.

So if you like to have a fun time with the kids then I do recommend this game 100%, and as you can get it from places like amazon for around £17.00, which is well worth it for the enjoyable times you will have.

Summary: So there is life after the movies...???
