The Body Shop Mango Whip Body Lotion
by scuba_angel
As happens to so many of us having decided that my current location is not where I want to live anymore I've started a process of decluttering my flat and attempting to use up the random oddities which live in my toiletries box, this Mango Body Whip is one such item sought out after attempts to use up an old shaving gel resulted in my ... legs becoming very dry.
As with many places my workplace holds a Secret Santa so that staff only have to buy one Christmas gift each, last year I quite fortuitously was given a Body Shop gift set of Mango scented items - fortuitous as I adore Mangoes and as admitted by my santa later on they had no idea that I actually liked the scent!
I am more familiar with Body Shop's range of Body Butters than the Whips which are a lighter more liquid moisturiser.
The bottle of Body Whip in the set contains 60ml of product, which is enough to last me ages as I rarely use moisturising products since I'm lucky enough that a moisturising shower gel usually suffices. Though given the volume of the bottle it would also be perfectly acceptable to take with you when travelling by plane and would given daily use last around a week with sparing use.
Opening the flip top on my first impression is of a rich fruity mango scent, strong but not overpowering and smelling fairly natual I was impressed as often fruit scented products smell terribly artificial.
Squeezing the plastic bottle to dispense the whip the small squirt of pale orange coloured moisturiser. Smoothing it on to my legs the whip quickly sinks in to my skin leaving a distinct but not overly strong scent of mango. The morning after my legs still feel moisturised but the scent has completely gone.
I was slightly concerned that as I had only just shaved the Whip may have caused irritation but it did not do this.
I won't make a big deal over Body Shops green credentials as the ingredients list for this product shows that this is not entirely true, but they do despite being a part of L'Oreal maintain their stance on never using products tested on animals and using Community Trade products where possible. In the case of this product Brazillian Babassu Oil.
Currently you can buy a 250ml bottle for £3 while a similar gift set to the one I recieved will set you back around £6 (for a shower puff, Body Whip and Shower Gel).
