Ghost Captivating Moisturising Body Lotion
by angelboouk I am a huge fan of the Ghost fragrance range. I own a few of the perfumes in this range and also quite a few of the matching body lotions. Last year I added a few more to my collection including 'Enchanted Bloom' and 'Captivating'. My review will discuss my use of the Captivating Moisturising Body Lotion. I have previously reviewed the ... eau de toilette in this range. ~Captivating~ The EDT and matching body lotion were released back in 2010. The scent of Captivating is described as being a 'fruity, floral fragrance which captures femininty, modern elegance and charm'. The body lotion is the perfect base to the EDT and will encourage a longer lasting scent on the skin whilst leaving it feeling moisturised and soft. The promised fragrance notes are identical to that of the EDT and are as follows : *Top notes - freesia, guava, mandarin and bergamot *Heart notes - peony, rose, jasmine and magnolia *Base notes - sandalwood, musky notes and orris Captivating Body Lotion is presented in a rather basic, tall and curvy shaped bottle which is made from squeezy plastic. The bottle is a gorgeous shade of green and complete with a bronze coloured lid. This body lotion has a 12 month shelf life. ~Price and Availability~ Compared to the EDT, the body lotion isn't as widely available. It can be bought online from a few stores in a 200ml sized bottle : *Amazon - £10.79 *www.forget-flowers.co.uk - £17.50 *www.fragrancedirect.co.uk - £19.95 (gift set including 30ml EDT and 50ml body lotion) It is always worth having a look on eBay too as many receive gift sets and do not use the body lotion so you may snap up a bargain! ~My Thoughts~ I have been meaning to review this body lotion for a while as it is one of my favourites. I love nearly ever Ghost body lotion that has been released. Captivating is very much like the EDT but in a much subtler, lighter way. I have worn both together but also like to wear the body lotion on its own when I don't fancy wearing a perfume. I like to apply this right after a shower and find that it is practical to use when I am short on time and in a hurry to get dressed. This body lotion is a treat to use. The white lotion is thin enough to be dispensed through the tiny hole with ease but not overly runny. It certainly doesn't look rich or indulgent but looks can be deceiving. A small blob of lotion spreads over a decent sized area of skin and feels incredibly lightweight, cool and soothing. The lotion takes very little time absorbing into my skin but once it has soaked in, no sticky residue is left on my skin. Whilst not as moisturising as a body butter or rich cream, this body lotion leaves my skin feeling nicely moisturised but not intensively so. The surface of dry skin is leave feeling soft and silky smooth for most of the day though the dry patches around my elbows and knees do not feel as moisturised when using this body lotion. That being said, Ghost do not promote it as being a dry skin product. This body lotion is kind and gentle to my sensitive skin despite being perfumed. The scent of this body lotion is lovely. It isn't overpowering but quite mild yet noticeable on my skin. It is a light scent which in my opinion, is suitable for wearing as a stand alone scent during warmer days. I can't imagine many ladies NOT liking the scent as it is beautifully feminine and fresh. Shortly after applying this body lotion, the scent radiating from my skin is sweet and slightly zesty thanks to the combination of guava and mandarin. A short while later I start to notice a pleasant, light floral aroma which has a creamy undertone. I'm not a floral kind of girl but the blend of rose and jasmine has me gripped. The scent on my skin gradually deepens to offer a warm, woody blend. I love the way the scent of this body lotion changes on my skin over the course of a few hours. It is appealing from the moment I apply it. When wearing it with the matching EDT, the scent is more noticeable and the body lotion compliments the beautifully arranged notes of the EDT. ~Conclusion~ I find Captivating perfect for wearing throughout the day and then topping up with the EDT in the evening to allow the scent to last all day. On its own, this body lotion is noticeable on my skin for around 6 hours which I appreciate. It is a gorgeous body lotion to use on a daily basis but I use it occasionally as I have so many to get through. It is an expensive purchase but a 200ml bottle lasts for ages so I consider it a worthwhile purchase. 4 stars Thanks for reading :) Read the complete review |

Ghost Deep Night Body Lotion
by catrocks03 I got this body lotion in a set with the Ghost perfume in a present from my sister. It actually got pushed back in my cabinet with all the other potions and lotions I had but recently when searching for a particular one i rediscovered it. Ghost (Deep Night) aswell as coming in a perfume & body lotion also has a matching shower ... gel which I'd like to try! -PACKAGING- The tube I have differs from the one in the photo- seeing as its slightly older & came in a gift set. Its a deep purple colour much like the perfume. Its a small 50ml tube but is lasting quite a long time as a little does go a long way. -SCENT- The same as I said with the perfume- the scent is very fruity and feminine. Can be used any time of day but definitly more suitable for evening wear. I definitly find the scent is more obvious and longer lasting when applied as a body lotion then as the perfume. Its one of those smells you apply then keep going back and smelling- I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this! -APPLICATION- The lotion is of a thick, white consistency. As you rub it in its a little greasy so please bear in mind a little goes a long way. I dried fairly quickly after rubbing it- around a minute I'd say. I think this is fine, not great for if you're in a hurry but if you're in a hurry I assume you'll skip the moisturising stage! It definitly does leave skin that slight bit more soft and smooth. -PRICE- You can pick up a gift set (with 30ml perfume & 50ml lotion) at the perfume shop-www.perfumeshop.com for £23.99. Id reccomend going through ebay for a more pocket friendly price. This item does also come in a bottle but I struggled to find the price of one via google! Personally I'd reccomend the tube for ease of use and so you dont waste any! Read the complete review |

Ghost The Fragrance Soothing Body Moisturizing Lotion
by k444tmc Over the years I have been a huge fan of the Ghost perfume range and also the gift sets which contain great products such as body lotions - which I am also a big fan of. Generally I find the best body lotions do come from the perfume manufacturers as they smell exactly like the perfumes which give your skin an excellent boost of scent. ... One of my favourites is Ghost The Fragrance - which I will be reviewing for you today. I have acquired this body lotion in the past in gift sets which have came with the matching perfume but you can also purchase the lotion on its own in 200ml form - the gift set version gives a decent 50ml 1.7FL.OZ. ********** Ghost the brandname was launched in the UK in 1984 specifically for women and this particular fragrence was launched by the company in 2000. In total there are 20 fragrences to date I have tried two of them and in my opinion very different from the competitors in terms of scent and bottle design. ********** The matching Ghost perfume to this body lotion is a delicious light day scent which in my opinion would suit women of all ages - I also liked this as a teenager so would also suit a younger nose. The notes for this particular scent are as follows : Top notes : Rose petals & ambrette seed Heart notes : White flowers, jasmine, sandalwood, incense Base notes : Vanilla, musk, amber, apricot Together, all the scents really compliment each other and it makes it a very different smell to all the other perfumes out there. ********** As previously noted this lotion comes in a 50ml size squeeze tube which is semi transparent and has a tint of blue to the packaging - similar to the perfume bottle. The tube stands upright with the screw top lid situated at the bottom which is silver/grey in colour. The lid tightens very well reducing the risk of spillage from the tube. The overall bottle is made out of a reliable hard plastic, although it is soft enough to allow you to squeeze the product out of the tube with ease. The front of the tube tells you that this is a "soothing and moisturising body lotion" and the back reveals the product has a shelf life of up to 12 months. Before applying the product you notice the scent of the lotion smells exactly like the perfume like you would expect and when squeezing the product out of the tube the consistancy is quite runny rather than thick, although I can tell you it can be rubbed into the skin very easily and doesn't take forever to dry. ********** My verdict The is the body lotion that I am using mainly at the moment - I have been using it daily after a shower for the last 2 weeks and still have around 1/4 of the tube left to use which isnt bad going considering I started off with only 50ml. In my opinion the lotion does last longer on your skin than the matching perfume does - to be more specific til the end of my working day at 3.30 you can still smell this on your skin. To me the scent is about the only benefit, as I do not notice that my skin is in anyway nicer/softer than before, but if you are just after a nice scent boost to your skin and the condition of your skin doesn't bother you too much this is the lotion for you. ********** It was hard for me to find this body lotion online as many other fragrances from Ghost seem to be more popular but I found this at www.bp4e.com priced at £12.75 for 200ml which isn't a bad price when you compare to other body lotions from the Ghost range.
