Johnsons 24 Hour Radiance Body Lotion
by dippykitty My skin isn't overly dry for most of the year and as I seem to have a knack of choosing body lotions that take forever to sink in properly, I can't say that I'm a huge fan in general. However, during the cold weather (which let's face it, is most of the year in the UK!), I often find that the skin on my arms starts to flake quite a bit ... after a bath or shower. This particular body lotion has been in my toiletries stash for a while and I've only just got around to giving it a whirl lately. I'm not a patient person at all so I can't be doing with waiting around for body lotion to sink in. I was pleased to see that this wasn't a problem here. The texture is not particularly thick but even so, I've found that this doesn't always dictate how well you can expect it to sink in so it was a relief to find that I could get dressed again within 5 minutes. It has a lovely smell, which lingers for a little bit and is worth bearing in mind if you plan to use perfume or body spray afterwards as it does clash for a while. Since I've been using this body lotion, I've noticed that the skin on my arms is less prone to flaking after a bath so I'm assuming that this means it's doing something good for balancing my skin's moisture levels and it lends some weight to the 24 hour claims. I probably shouldn't be too surprised as the packaging flags up that it contains shea butter and cocoa butter, both of which are recommended for moisture-boosting properties. I'm not using the body lotion on skin that is particularly rough so I can't comment on the claims that it softens and smoothes this but it's certainly done wonders for the dry areas on my upper arms in particular. Price-wise, Boots sell this for just over £3 at the moment, which I feel is a fair price. It goes on easily, which means that I don't need to use a huge amount so it lasts a good amount of time. Johnsons 24 Hour Radiance Body Lotion
by xxfoxyredxx When it comes to body moisturisers I have to admit to buying them with all good intentions of using them and then I tend to use them once or twice and can't be bothered using them again which means they either end up on my bathroom shelf as dust collectors or given to my mate or chucked in the bin if really awful. This one I ... bought for a couple of reasons. First off this is a Johnson's product and it was on sale in my local Poundland store so I thought that was a great price to pay for a branded product and secondly because its called Radiance Body Lotion and at the time I bought it I had a little bit of a natural tan and later a fake tan and thought this may help to illuminate it a bit! The Packaging: This body lotion itself comes in a very light peachy coloured plastic bottle that has a flip-top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole and then on the front of the bottle we are told that it is Johnson's Body care 24 Hour Moisture Radiance Body Lotion 'With Shea & Cocoa Butters and that its 'For Naturally Radiant Skin And All Day Softness', the size is stated which is 250ml and we are told on the bottom that it is indeed a Johnson & Johnson product. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, the ingredients are given, we are told that once the bottle is opened to use the body lotion up within 12 months and contact details for the manufacturer are given. Nice enough, high quality looking bottle this is and easy to use and so on. The Body Lotion Itself: Well this is a rather thick consistency white cream. Don't get me wrong its easy to squeeze out of the bottle and is smooth but quite thick. All you do is apply this wherever you want it, its fast to absorb with little effort required this one and you can dress immediately after using it safe in the knowledge that this doesn't leave unsightly residue anywhere. This has a very, very heavy sweet aroma to it which is that of shea butter blended very heavily with a creamy cocoa like smell. For me this fragrance is very heavy and I have to admit a lot too sweet for me really but if you like it you will be pleased to know that this fragrance really does linger on the skin for hours though luckily for me and my nostrils it did die down a bit! When first applied you can really see a subtle shimmer on the skin and I had to look closely cos I was sure I could spot particles of glitter at first but now I'm pretty sure that I couldn't and it is just what I first thought it was and that's a shimmer. This when dried though does die down as does the fragrance but skin does look healthy to me and it really doesn't look fake though I am disappointed that it really doesn't give all that much extra radiance to my skin in the long really. However on a positive note this does make me feel nicely and comfortably moisturised in a none greasy way all day long and I have noticed that used regularly my skin not only feels softer when this body lotion is on it but even when it isn't my skin has improved in texture and it feels a lot softer in general. All in all I'm pleased enough with this product. It gives a little healthiness to my skin, doesn't agitate it and is great applied over fake tan as it still absorbs into my skin without lifting any existing colour. It makes my skin feel good but my nostrils don't like it at all and I find it really sickly so although I like the benefits I receive from it sadly I won't be buying it again but if you do like its scent this could end up a good product for you! Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc priced at about £3.00 a bottle. Read the complete review |

Johnson's Baby Moisturising Cream
by star3683 My husband a few months ago had a couple of small dry patches of skin on his hand and arm. He is never very keen on using any medical items so when I suggested he tried some of my eczema cream he refused. He also has quite sensitive skin so I was a little stumped as to what to suggest he tried. This is when I thought about some baby ... moisturiser as if it's gentle enough for a baby it must be gentle enough for my 27 year old husband! So I went to Boots to see what I could find and the Johnsons baby moisturising cream looked like a perfect start. A 100ml tube of the baby moisturiser from Boots cost just £1.99 so it didn't break the bank either. I have also seen this moisturiser in Wilkinson's, larger supermarkets and chemists. My husband used this cream every day on his dry skin patches for about a week (mainly because I made him), but it worked brilliantly and the dry patches had soon disappeared. But this left a large amount of the moisturiser left which I decided to try on my face to see how it suited my skin as it tends to be quite sensitive at times. I was amazed at just how well it worked, it was not at all greasy and left my skin feeling soft and subtle. I have now purchased a couple more tubes and do not use it every day as now I am approaching my thirties I am starting to be cautious about wrinkles etc. But for when my skin is feeling a little sensitive and needing a break from more chemical filled products then I always reach for the tube of this. The cream itself is quite thick and white in colour and has a lovely fresh fragrance. There is nothing fancy about this moisturiser it is simple and gentle but that is exactly why I will continue to buy it and I can understand why people trust it to use it on their children's skin.
