Advantages: Range of fragrances, It does the job, Well priced
Disadvantages: Limited availability in some shops
Not content with making sports wear and sports equipment, Adidas have more recently decided to provide all of us (even those not so sporty types) with a new product - "Adidas 24hr Performance Anti-Perspirant". (Please note this product is different to the one pictured by dooyoo). Although available in both men's and women's versions, having only tried the women's variety this review is limited to the women's range... (however I should imagine the only difference is the fragrance). The can itself is easily recognisable on the shelf... most people are aware of the Adidas 3-Stripe logo, and this appears quite predominantly on the front of the can. For the women's version, the can itself is mainly white in colour, and notceably it has no lid - this is due to a clever little contraption on the top, whereby twisting the plastic at the top of the can will reveal the hole where the spray comes out. When not in use, twisting the top back again to cover the little hole means that the top cannot accidentally be depressed whilst say, in your sports bag. When originally launched it was only available in a limited number of varities, namely 'sensitive' and 'intensive' however since then, presumably due to the popularity of the product, the range has been extended to include a wider variety of fragrances. Fragrances now available include Ice Burst, Citrus Energy and Fitness Fresh amongst others. Scents are very much a personal thing - having tried many of the fragrances in the range I now tend to avoid Fitness Fresh as I don't like the smell at all, however the other fragrances I've mentioned (Icy Burst and Citrus Energy) I find really nice. A deodorant of any kind is a very important product to the majority of people... You put your trust in the product not to let you end up smelling revolting and with big wet sweat patches under your arm pits by the end of your day. The blurb on the back
of the can of this range of deodorants advises that: "...This unique formula regulates your perspiration in response to your body's demands." It goes on to list 2 bullet points which seem to be identical on every can: * 24h odour and wetness protection * Alcohol free - Dermatologically tested ... as well as a third bullet point that varies from can to can depending on the fragrance, e.g. Fitness Fresh = Fresh ozonic fragrance, Citrus Energy = Sparkling citrussy fragrance. As with all spray on deodorants, there's no difference in the instructions on this one - in brief, shake well and spray! In terms of application, it feels gentle when you spray it under your arms, but you do get a satisfying blast that I find makes you feel more confident that it's actually sprayed in the right place in the right quantity, as opposed to some weaker spraying deodorants that you can hardly feel touching your skin as you spray them. The burning question then... does it work? For me, this deodorant works excellently. I can rely on it to keep me smelling fresh all day and don't end up with big wet patches! Obviously, the body's natural way to cool down is to release sweat, and in extreme conditions, such as exercise or a very hot environment, you cannot expect any product to keep you entirely bone dry (and surely you wouldn't want it to in those conditions for the sake of your overheating body?!) however for general daily use I can pick no faults with this product's ability to keep me feeling fresh. Adidas 24h Performance Anti-Perspirant can be purchased at nearly all the normal places that you would expect to find deodorant on sale, though I have found that the range is more limited in some stores than others (e.g. in some stores there is only a couple of varieties of fragrances on offer, in others there is a much more extensive range). It's priced at roughly £1.99 for a 200ml can, which is a s
imilar price to most other branded deodorants such as Sure, Nivea, Right Guard, etc. So, in conclusion I would thoroughly recommend you try this product if you're on the look out for a new deodorant or just fancy a change. As with all deodorants, it's bound not to work for some people, but for me, it's now become my favourite!
