- AMBRE SOLAIRE.-
I have been using Ambre Solaire after sun tan maintainer for a couple of years now. I always buy a tube when Summer approaches. This stuff is brilliant! It is the best tan enhancer I have tried, and I have tried a few. I love Ambre Solaire products, the scents are always so nice and instantly recognisable.
The tan maintainer comes in a blue plastic tube, with the Ambre Solaire written across the top. It states this cream is for a longer lasting tan, and that it is an after sun tan maintainer. It is also suitable for face and body. The weight is 150ml. It prolongs your tan, and maintains a nice bronzed healthy glow, and that's exactly what it does, and a very natural look it is too.
What it does is makes your own natural sun kissed colour a little more intense. It contains it's own self tanning properties to bring out gradually, a stronger depth of colour in your skin and maintain it for you. It is packed full of it's own moisturisers, which will rehydrate your skin to keep it in tip top condition, after being in the damaging heat of the sun.
It will also soothe 'sun skin' and cool it down. It's a very subtle look, and gives a very pretty effect. After you have been in the sun smooth it all over your body, till it is fully absorbed, the active ingredients will make your skin feel fully moisturised, whilst giving it a nice healthy glow. The tanning agents will take about four hours to fully intensify, but once it is rubbed into the skin well, and after the recommended period of 15 minutes of not coming into contact with any clothing etc, it should not rub off on your clothes, or stain them at all. The tube lasts for ages, you don't seem to need an awful lot of this on application.
The colour when it comes out of the tube is a white cream, and quite loose in consistency, which you squeeze through the nozzle in the end of the tube, looking pretty much like a large tube of toothpaste. The smell is that of a mild self tanning cream, it has that 'tang'. Remember after you have applied this creme to your skin, wash your hands at once, and thoroughly, to remove any residue of the cream, as this will stain your palms if you don't get it off! You will have a severe case of orange palm!
As I say, I have been using this for a couple of years now, as it is just so darn good. The colour it achieves is very natural looking light tan. I use this in the winter as well. It just makes me look that little bit healthier. The creme absorbs well, and doesn't feel sticky at all. The smell is like Ambre Solaire products, they have a certain smell about them, and it is very pleasant. It reminds me of summer, and the beach. ~
The Ambre Solaire after sun tan maintainer costs: £6.99 for 150ml from Superdrug.
