Review of Apple Blossom Body Lotion
I was given a gift set of Apple Blossom toiletries as a birthday gift a couple of years ago and have only recently re-discovered the set during a decluttering session in my home. The Apple Blossom gift set was lurking in at the back of my rather capacious bathroom cupboard. The Apple Blossom Body Lotion was included in my set and I have been enjoying using the products over the past few weeks.
Apple Blossom was produced by the Helena Rubinstein Company and it was one of the fragrances houses' most successful lines. The fragrance has been around for many years having first been introduced back in the 1930s. The Apple Blossom fragrance was taken over by Kent cosmetics in 1988 and is still produced today.
**The Body Lotion**
This body lotion is presented in an unashamedly feminine bottle; it is very pink, very pretty and extremely attractive. The product label is in pink and gold. The bottle is made from recyclable plastic and features a flip top lid. This is easy to open and close and the hole beneath the lid is just the right size to dispense the body lotion. The bottle contains 200ml of body lotion.
I find the lotion comes out reasonably well, although you do need to beware of squeezing the bottle as it is easy to get too much lotion out if you do! The lotion itself is a pale pinkish/white colour and it is designed to be used all over the body. I find the lotion is very light and it is pleasant to use, it absorbs into the skin quickly leaving no stickiness or residue. After use I find my skin feels smooth, comfortable and moisturised.
This body lotion has the lovely Apple Blossom fragrance, this is a floral scent. The packaging tells me that Apple Blossom is 'an exquisite blend of apple-blossom, lily, jasmine, mandarin, rose, patchouli, oak moss, and sandalwood'. Apple Blossom was a firm favourite of mine in my teens; I used to adore this scent. As I have grown older, I find I still like Apple Blossom, as it is a light, refreshing blend of florals, ideal for day wear and I always have a bottle in my fragrance collection. What I particularly love about the fragrance is that the base notes of patchouli and sandalwood come through and linger on your skin.
I have several products from the Apple Blossom range and like to layer them in order to make my fragrance last longer. The body lotion makes an ideal addition to the range and as scented body lotions go, this is a good one. I would not really recommend it for severely dry skins as I do not think it is moisturising enough, it is a luxury, scented body lotion rather than a deeply moisturising product.
A 200ml size of this body lotion can be purchased for around £6 from various High Street and online sources.
**My Thoughts and Conclusion**
I really love this body lotion; it is well scented, easy to apply, absorbs well and leaves skin feeling soft and scented. Apple Blossom has long been a favourite of mine and I am glad it is still available. I possibly wouldn't buy this for myself although I feel it is reasonable value for money given the depth of scent the lotion provides.
The packaging looks good in my bathroom and it is a good quality body lotion which I am enjoying using. I may have to drop a few hints to have my stock of Apple Blossom products replenished around my birthday, this time I'd use them straightaway though instead of hoarding them!
