Advantages: two jobs in one
Disadvantages: head too big
My daughter has been wanting to try one of these toothbrushes that clean your tongue too. When I went to purchase them I could see that they would not be suitable for a child to use due to the huge size of the head of the brush. However I decided in the name of research I would buy one and try it for myself.
On the front of the packet there is a tester of how the tongue cleaning part of the brush feels. It feels like a very soft rubber that is grooved. The back of the brush is designed to remove debris and bacteria off of the tongue. It is a great idea because many people do not ever think to clean their tongue. The brush was very effective at cleaning the tongue and did not leave your tongue sore as it does if you use a normal bristle brush. It also says that the tongue cleaning ridges contains 'silver ions' which are an antibacterial agent which helps prevent bacterial growth on product surface.
The brush itself was ok. It had the different level of bristles so it cleaned effectively in between my teeth too. The head was to large however for me! I prefer a smaller head. My teeth did feel very clean after using. The handle of the brush was nice to hold. It had a nice grip to it. I also liked the flex head that it had. This is good because it stops you brushing too hard and damaging your gums.
The brushes come in a nice range of colours.
I would buy one again if I could find it with a smaller head.
I paid £2.49 for the brush from a little chemist (may be different in supermarket?)
Summary: be better with smaller head
