Advantages: Low price

Disadvantages: Doesn't look like the picture

One day I suddenly ran out of toothpaste and went to Superdrug for a replacement. There were loads available but from a report I read in the consumer magazine Which, paying more for a toothpaste rarely makes a difference in tems of its effectiveness so I tend to just pick up what's cheap at the time. This was priced at 87p at the time though when I was in Superdrug most recently it was up at £1.40 so the price does fluctuate.

It comes in a blue cardboard tube but I don't still have it so can't comment on it. The tube itself is blue with the product name Fresh and Minty on the front. They recommend using it twice a day which most people do morning and night. This has a flip lid on top. I hate toothpastes with screw tops as I always find them a bit fiddly.

When the paste is squeezed out of the tube it is meant to come with three stripes. The red stripe promotes healthy gums, the white strong teeth and the blue stripe aids fresh breath. It always reminds me of the advert with the family in the bathroom in their pyjamas cleaning their teeth but sadly mine does not look like that. Instead it looks a pale pink mix with vague signs of blue in there. Whether it looked like that at the beginning I can't remember but right now it certainly bears no resemblance to the picture. On the plus side it is very fresh and once used you do feel that your mouth has been given a thorough clean. The mint is quite strong but not so much that it's unberable and that's from a mint-hater. My teeth do look clean afterwards but it's hard to measure its effectiveness as a product because I think a lot of it depends on how well you brush your teeth and your toothbrush. This tube lasted me about two months.

Summary: Value buy
