Advantages: Gives a deep clean

Disadvantages: Flavour tastes like Lemsip

I've never been a fan of flossing, I don't like the feel of the thread rubbing against my gums, my dentist knows this and when I visited him recently he recommended Aquafresh iso-active to me. He told me that this toothpaste could replace the need to floss, it's still better to floss, but this is better than doing nothing. I immediately headed off to the shops, at the particular store I entered they only had the citrus mint flavour available, I normally would prefer the regular mint but I so desperately wanted to try this toothpaste that I went ahead and picked up the citrus mint.

I would say that while the flavour isn't horrendous I probably wouldn't buy this particular flavour again. The only similar taste that I can relate it to is that of Lemsip (lemon flavour). That's fine for a drink but in a toothpaste it doesn't give you that minty fresh breath!

The toothpaste itself promises the normal triple protection of all Aquafresh toothpastes for healthy gums, strong teeth and fresh breath. It also has the added ingrediant of iso-active foaming gel. This gel promises to remove 25% more bacteria than an ordianry toothpaste. When combined with water and once the brushing motion has started the gel begins to foam. This foaming is not in an uncontrollable sense but it's basically just a thicker version of the foam that a normal toothpaste produces. This additional thickness gives it the weight and strength to push between the gaps in the teeth. You can actually feel it reaching more parts of your mouth.

The can that contains the toothpaste is blue and green with the normal Aquafresh symbol on the front. The can itself is recyclable. The can also comes with a translucent plastic lid. The toothpaste is dispensed by pushing down the top of the can in a similar style to liquid soad dispensers.

I would definitely recommend the iso-active toothpaste but I think I would the citrus mint flavour a miss.

Summary: Worth trying but go for the mint
