Advantages: Cleans well, freshens, tastes nice
Disadvantages: Lots of it is wasted through really bad packaging design
Description
This is an iso-active gel toothpaste by Aquafresh which transforms into an active foam to penetrate into hard to reach places, giving you a whole mouth clean. It should be used as with any normal toothpaste, twice daily. It's supposed to keep your gums healthy, your teeth strong, and your breath fresh, and it removes 25% more bacteria than an ordinary toothpaste.
Pros
- The fact that it comes in a can with a press top dispenser means that you can more easily control the amount of gel that you dispense, meaning it's quick and easy to use.
- It foams up very quickly when you start brushing and it really does feel like it's giving your whole mouth a thorough clean.
- The foam that it creates is quite thin so it doesn't make me gag like some other toothpastes have been known to.
- It tastes nice and fresh, but not too strongly minty so it doesn't burn your mouth or feel overly strong.
- It cleans the teeth really well, much better than other toothpastes I've used, and it makes them feel really squeaky clean and the whole mouth feels fresh and clean.
- It freshens breath really well, without giving you an over the top 'I've just brushed my teeth' minty scent.
Cons
- Sometimes I feel like it foams up a little too much and it's hard to brush without ending up with it dribbling out of your mouth and all over the place!
- The can leaks product whilst it's not in use, which is very annoying as there's probably almost as much wasted in this way as you actually use for brushing.
- It's quite expensive for a toothpaste at around £3 for a 100ml can, though I got mine on offer in Morrisons for £1.50 and it's currently on offer in Tesco at £1.91
Summary
This is a brilliantly effective toothpaste which will leave your teeth and mouth feeling exceptionally clean and fresh, but the design of the packaging could do with a little more thought.
Summary: A great toothpaste if only half of it wasn't wasted!

- 08/02/09 I keep meaning to try this - I like the idea that it expands around your teeth and gums. |
