Advantages: Cleans teeth well, fresh breath
Disadvantages: none
Personally I have always had a problem with my teeth, this stemmed from having no enamel on them, as a result of this problem I have always tried to get good products for my boys to use. This one is the latest which I found and used with them.
~~THE PACKAGING~~
Aqua Fresh Little teeth is a toothpaste which has been designed for children ages 4-6. It comes in a standard toothpaste tube but it stands up on end with the lid being the bottom. The tube is white and has a picture of a white and red striped 'person' on the top holding a red banner with the recommended age group in and below this in bright coloured lettering is the product name. The back of the tube has all of the relevant information about the tooth paste, including, directions for use and ingredients.
The tooth paste if I remember correctly does come in a white and red cardboard tube which is nice and bright and does contain a small picture of the red and white toothpaste character and all of the relevant information about this product. I cannot be too precise about this as we threw the box straight away after returning from the shops.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~
To use this paste all you need to do is unscrew the lid and then squeeze a pea sized amount onto the toothbrush. The paste is a pink colour as the red stripe has mixed with the white. The stripe is still visible but not as clear as it would be if the paste had stayed white.
The teeth should be brushed for 2 minutes twice a day making sure that the gums are also brushed to keep them healthy.
The paste does have a smell but this is not noticeable unless you actually smell the tube and it smell like fresh mint. The paste does taste of mint and I did not find this was strong when I tried the paste and my boys seem quite happy with it. The paste is nice and thick which means that it does not fall of the brush when rinsed under the running tap.
I have noticed after a few weeks of my middle son using this that his teeth have become a lot whiter and they do seem more shiny. He is very pleased with how clean they look when he inspects them in the mirror. He also has nice fresh breath which does last after using this paste.
~~INFO~~
The tooth paste comes in a tube size of 50 ml which I have found to last a month with one child using it twice a day.
The ingredients of this paste for those wishing to know are:-
Glycerine, Aqua, Hydrated Silica, Xylitol, PEG-6, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Flouride,Sodium Methyl Aroma, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Saccharin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, CI 73360.
Aqua Fresh claim on the back of the tube that the age range specified is only a rough guide and if you think your child who is younger than 4 may need the extra fluoride then consult your dentist and he may recommend using this.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILIY~~
I bought my tube from Tesco for £1.15 which I did feel was quite expensive when there are so many cheaper brands available. It is also available in other supermarkets and drug stores.
~~OVERALL~~
I am going to recommend this tooth paste as it has given my son clearly noticeably shinier and cleaner teeth and gives him lovely fresh breath.
Summary: A great tooth paste for children ages 4-6
