Advantages: Fresh breath, clean teeth and gums.
Disadvantages: none
Saturday evening is my weekly shopping night, so during the day I put together my weekly shopping list. On it was the usual things like bread x2, Milk, Loo roll, Baked beans you know the things we need to get us through the week. Although every time I do this silly list I always leave something off it, this week it was tooth paste.
Luckily on the wonder around Asda, I spotted toothpaste and I instantly remembered we needed it. I was so sick of my usual toothpaste and fancied a change, so I was in the market for a new one to try.
Browsing the shelves they all looked the same, similar packaging and wording I just didn't have a clue what to try. I then came across aquafresh extreme clean, I had not used aquafresh since that silly advert with the snowman cartoon like family, you know the one where they are jumping around in the red, white and blue striped pyjamas. So I thought why not, let's give it a go and I chucked it into my trolley, and off I went.
The toothpaste
The name of the tooth paste is aquafresh extreme clean intense rush, I know this sounds like a real mouth full and I have to say the toothpaste itself is true to its name.
This is a fluoride toothpaste which contains a micro active formula, it is designed to penetrate your teeth, gums and tongue cleaning them with an intense zingy rush, well this is what it says on the box. I would have to agree they have got the sales pitch down to a tee, when you are brushing you do actually get an intense taste that tingles your mouth and tongue leaving your mouth feeling fresh and clean.
As for the micro active formula, this is contained within the paste to help it foam and get to hard to reach areas, and foam it certainly doe's while brushing you end up foaming so much you look like you have rabies.
Aquafresh is known for its three stripes red, white and blue, these are still present in the tooth paste. The red paste is for healthy gums, the blue paste is for fresh breath and the white is for strong white teeth.
Packaging
This toothpaste comes really appealing packaging, the box is metallic silver and orange and stands out against other brands on the shelf, but alongside other aquafresh brands it looks very similar to their other toothpastes, only slightly different colours from the rest.
Aquafresh extreme clean intense rush comes in a 100ml squeezable tube, with a screw on cap.
Ingredients in aquafesh.
The micro active ingredient contains sodium fluoride 0.306% and the other ingredients include Aqua, Hydrated silica, Sorbitol, Glycerin, PEG-6, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Aroma, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Fluoride, Sodium Saccharin, Cocamidopropy Betaine, Titanium Dioxide and Limonene.
How to use
It is recommended that you brush your teeth at least twice a day, to achieve nice healthy white teeth and gums.
For children under seven, use a pea sized amount of toothpaste and always supervise their brushing, to minimise the risk of swallowing.
Where can you get Aquafresh Toothpaste?
You can buy this toothpaste at almost any supermarket, grocery shop, Wilkinson stores, chemist or bodycare shop.
The toothpaste does vary in price from store to store, but you can expect to pay anywhere between 1.39 and 2.69 per tube. I have personally seen this in Wilkinson's for 1.39p a tube and in my chemist for 2.69 a tube. Supermarkets may have this a little cheaper then Wilkinson's depending on their offers, but I paid 2.19 when I bought my first tube.
Aquafresh has also introduced a new Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening toothpaste since this one, which is designed for even whiter teeth. Personally I didn't over rate the whitening paste as it didn't give me the same foam or zingy fresh feeling I have now come to expect, twice a day.
All in all I love my new toothpaste brand, it is defiantly a step up from the old aquafresh they sold, I now like getting up in the morning to brush with this fantastic zingy toothpaste, which leaves my mouth, teeth and breath feeling clean and fresh for hours.
Summary: Great toothpaste that leaves your teeth clean and fresh all day.
