The first thing you see in every product inevitably is the case. And I must admit that the pot, albeit simple and clean, is nothing special. It may even look somewhat flimsy. But the design does not matter so much as its lack of function; I would really have appreciated a little spatula of sort since it is crucial to keep any droplet of moisture away from this product and well, this product would be sitting in the bathroom all the time.
This product may seem slightly pricey however, given its whopping weight of 400g I think it works out fairly overall.
The fragrance of this aroma mineral salt is herbal; slightly reminiscent of the patchouli oil also from Aveda but comparatively fainter and easier. It would certainly aid in relaxing in the tub.
Given that this product is bath salt, the salt crystals are wetter and softer than what you would expect; of course, it's not any kind of moisture that is causing that (admittedly it will melt before anything) but "meadow foam seed oil", said to moisturise without being sticky. Although the point is irrelevant when using this product as bath salt, if you were to use it as scrub, I suggest you melt it slightly with water since that way you will spill less on the floor and also reduce the chance of irritating the skin. After using this product as a scrub, I experience a very smooth and thin layer of moisture on my skin (you would see droplets of water clinging onto the surface of oil moisture).
This is one product that I was not so sure whether I needed it or not since it was not absolutely necessary or essential. However, I did feel relaxed and soothed after soaking in its gentle herbal fragrance and would recommend this product to anyone who enjoys a good warm bath - why not upgrade your regular bath to a home spa?
