Advantages: Lovely fragrance, Absorbs quickly into the skin, Not too greasy
Disadvantages: £4.00 for a 125ml bottle ~ but does last!
This opinion is specifically about the Avon Sensual Jasmine Dry Oil Spray; part of the Avon Aromatherapy range. This range comes in a number of different fragrances ~ including Refreshing Mint, Calming Lavender and Energising Mandarin. I really like the Sensual Jasmine scent; you can tell because I have The Massage & Body Cream, the Bath & Shower Gel and (of course) the Dry Oil Spray. Avon also do a Linen & Room Spray in this range, which I would also like to get. ~~~WHERE CAN I GET IT?: From Avon of course silly! Either go to the web-site (www.avonshop.co.uk) or order from the catalogue via an Avon Rep. There's a lady on our local Car Boot Sale who sells Avon stuff cheap too...but we'll forget about that for now; you might not want to come to Chesterfield just for a Dry Oil Spray! ~~~HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?: A 125ml spray usually costs £4.00, but at present (in the latest catalogue) it is on offer at £3.00; the perfect opportunity to give it a try! Mine was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law. I liked the spray so much that I bought the Company...seriously; I loved it so much that I treated myself to the other products. ~~~WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?: The bottle is an opaque plastic with a grey, non-aerosol nozzle and a clear plastic lid. The spray itself is a delicate shade of pink. The lid fits on tightly; when you press it on there is a reassuring click to show it is firmly in place. Likewise, there is a little resistance when you remove the top...great because it means the lid isn?t going to come of by accident in your bag. The labelling is simple with a small logo that says "Avon Aromatherapy" and a small pink flower on a grey background...it also says "Sensual Jasmine Dry Oil Spray" in a couple of different languages, along with the ingredients (which I won?t bore you with), the size and the company details...do you think you could recognise it in the Avon catalogue now?
~~~APPLICATION: Here is the idiots guide to applying the dry oil spray! · Take off the cap · Point the nozzle at your skin (not at your eyes, your clothes, your furniture, your cat, etc...unless you really want a moisturised pussy LOL!). · Press down on the top of the nozzle to spray the oil on your skin. · Rub in the oil until it sinks into your skin. That just about sums it up! ~~~WHAT DID I THINK?: I wasn't sure whether I was going to like this product. I assumed, because it was an oil spray that it was going to be greasy and difficult to use. This is why I didn't use it for quite a while after receiving it at Christmas. I had sniffed the bottle experimentally a few times and thought how nice it smelled, but I had never tried it. I finally tried it when I ran out of my usual body lotion. My skin felt a little dry and in need of a pamper, so I thought "what the hell"! I sprayed a little bit on my arm and was surprised to see how quickly and easily it absorbed into my skin. The oil didn't make my hands feel greasy; neither did my body! The fragrance was quite strong, but it wasn't overpowering or sickly. It didn't clash with my perfume, and settled down into a soft and feminine smell that I thought was really pleasant...a little oriental and lightly floral. I would advise you not to spray on too much at once. It?s best to massage it in straight away before it has a chance to drip off onto your carpet or furniture. If you put on a bit at a time, and rub it into your skin immediately, there is very little mess and no trouble. It's been really good recently in helping to keep my tan ~ my skin feels lovely, soft and not at all dry. Just be careful not to get it on anything other than your skin because the oil is a little difficult to remove from fabric (and your duvet cover...yes I DID spray a bit in the wrong direction at
first...DOH!). If you are careful and only spray it where you need it it's a welcome addition to my skin-care routine. This product has a lot going for it; it feels good, it moisturises your skin and it smells wonderful too! The only thing that may let it down slightly is the price...I'm a bit of a cheapskate and usually begrudge paying £4.00 for a skin-care product. In Avon's defence, it lasts an awful long time...I've been using it since the end of February and I still have a quarter of the 125ml bottle left. A little squirt goes a long way! I recommend that you give Avon Sensual Jasmine Dry Oil Spray a whirl. I was a doubter..but now I'm completely converted.
- 01/12/02 I have the moisturisor in Sensual jasmine - it's very nice! Sadly, my link to the outside world (and avon reps) moved, so I'll have to wait a bit before I can try the oil. |
- 22/11/02 Their facial scrub is pretty good - got a free sample with a magazine the other week. Trouble is, with no dead cells on the surface of my skin, my black-heads suddenly stand out in all their loathsomeness. I won't go on... |
