I haven't written about any beauty products on Dooyoo yet so thought I'd make a start. Nothing could make me beautiful, but Avon's self tanning lotion can at least give me a golden glow. Unfortunately I'll never look like a beach babe, but this does at least save me from having the dreaded white legs syndrome. I've been using self tanning products for many years now and I think I have tried just about every product on the market so I therefore feel quite qualified to write an opinion on this subject. Having used everything from Christian Dior to the good old Ambre Solaire I have to say Avon has come out top of the league. It comes in the form of a lotion which I initially thought was rather runny, but the effect is really natural. There are no streaks as the product isn't strong. If however you want a darker tan it is easy just to add another application until you're happy with the result. The lotion isn't greasy and best of all it has a pleasant smell, unlike others I have tried which to put it mildly....pong!!! Best of all it is so gentle it is suitable for even the most delicate skin. Avon's prices change regularly as I'm sure most people will know. The usual price is in the £5/6 range, but I generally buy when there is a 2 for the price of 1 offer, meaning it costs about £3 for a generous sized bottle. Although it states it is for the body, I also use it on my face. Whilst it doesn't transform me (unfortunately), it does give a glow. I've found with each passing year I've become somewhat paler so this product is an absolute must if I am to continue pretending I am young!!! The effect is so natural looking that I wear it throughout winter as well as through the summer and it certainly lasts for ages, I'm still using a bottle I purchased over l2 months ago. Additionally,in summer months it is possible to go without other makeup as the self tanning
lotion provides colour without cover. I don't know if others are aware, but the best way to apply self tanning lotion is with a large soft sponge. In this way any risk of streaking is reduced and you don't end up with orange colouring between your fingers either. It also pays to put vaseline over your eyebrows to prevent them going bright orange and to avoid your hairline if at all possible. I usually also moisturise my knees and elbows as the skin is dryest there. I think most people know that Avon has to be ordered through a representative, but on reading another Dooyoo's opinion, I've just learned that you can now purchased it off the net. Well roll on summer I say when I can top up my false tan with a real one....some hope if the weather is as bad as last year.
