Advantages: A nice range of scents, a constantly changing range

Disadvantages: Thin bubbles, a little drying, can be expensive when not on special offer

I have always liked the ever changing range of Bubble Bath from Avon so was happy to receive four different bottles as part of a Christmas present from my niece. I shall review them as a whole as the actual bubble bath is identical and the only difference between each bottle is the scent.

The bottle I think looks nice, I have the one litre sized bottles and they are tall and very sturdy looking with a lovely scalloped design on the sides. The bottle has barely changed in years and it's definitely a classic that you'll see in many people's bathrooms across the country, everyone I know proudly displays a bottle or two including my brand snob daughter who tends to shun Avon like the plague.

The bubble bath is quite thick and clear, it dissolves into bubbles quickly under the running water although I do find I need to swish my hand across the bottom of the bath to get the optimum amount of foam as some of the bubble bath always sinks to the bottom. The bubbles are nice, I find them rather thin when compared to other bubble baths I use but they last well for the duration of my bath so they can't be all that bad! They don't feel luxurious in the slightest and there is little scent in the bubbles, I have spoiled myself with Lush bubble bars and it's unfair really to judge Avon's cheaper product but I can't help it!

The bubble bath is cleansing, as usual I use the bubbles on my bath scrunchie to wash and find my skin feels clean and refreshed afterwards. It's not a moisturising range at all, in fact I think they can be rather drying at times, and I always have to use a rich body cream afterwards. None of the bubble baths have ever irritated my skin so I believe they are gentle, it's just that I favour richer bath products so this bubble bath always feels lacking in comparison.

I feel I have given so many disadvantages to this bubble bath that it really isn't fair. I do like it, it's just that there are others I prefer and writing this review has brought up to me just how ordinary this range is. The smells are good, I used a White Chocolate one last night and that was deliciously sweet with the scent lingering in the room for a while after my bath even though it didn't last long on my skin after I'd dried and dressed. Another lovely one is the Lavender bubble bath and I find this one to be very relaxing with a natural lavender scent which is surprisingly strong once in the bath water compared to how bland it smells in the bottle. My least favourite is the Soft Pink variety which is perfumed to be floral, it smells very synthetic and for some reason doesn't seem to bubble quite as well as the other bubble baths in the range.

Sometimes Avon will bring out a new bubble bath and this usually heralds the demise of one of the existing ones, I'm not loyal to any one scent in this range so don't care which one goes but my daughter was very annoyed a couple of years ago when Avon unceremoniously dumped her favourite orange bubble bath!

The 500ml bottles of Avon Bubble Bath cost £4 at full price, although this is one of those products which is on some kind of special offer most of the time in the Avon book and as I think £4 to be a little expensive for this bubble bath I tend to stock up on a few bottles whenever I find them on a good promotion.

Summary: A nice range of bubble baths from Avon.

I find them great for the kids baths as they are quite gentle on the skin, but have to agree with you that they're not a patch on a Lush bubble bar! Still when you compare the 1ltr bottle with a BBS you get a fair amount of baths from one bottle! x
