Advantages: Peppermint fragrance, makes skin smoother
Disadvantages: Instructions on bottle do not work - end up in a mess if you follow them!
The FootWorks range from Avon seems quite comprehensive and I decided that as it was coming up to summer I should try and sort my feet out so that they were a bit more presentable in flip flops! I tend to walk a bit heavy on one side of my feet, and tend to ruin shoes by treading over on the sides so my feet can often develop hard skin in areas where all the pressure goes on.
I decided to just buy one product from the Footworks range to see what it was like before splashing out any more money.
I bought the Rough Skin Remover - I think it was £4.
It is a 75 ml bottle and says use regularly to help control hard skin build up.
It tells you that to use it - After bath, shower or foot soak, dry your feet and apply the cream on rough, dry areas. Leave on for 60 seconds and then massage in.
Well this would have been all well and good if it had been a thick moisturiser or something - but the Rough skin remover is basically like a very rough body scrub in texture.
I used it as directed even though I was sceptical and it was awful! It smells lovely and pepperminty and fresh but there is no way you can rub this "cream" into your feet!
I honestly think they have got the instructions wrong on the back - i would suggest using this as a foot scrub and then washing it off when in the shower - not using it after shower and rubbing it in.
When i tried to rub it in there is so much pumice in there that you rub and it just dries out and flakes off - there are tiny rough bits of pumice that are no way going to sink into your skin, i'm sure it must have been designed to rinse off!
So thats what i did after hopping into the bathroom having tried to rub the cream into my foot after putting it on in the lounge! After hopping to the shower and rinsiing it off my foot did indeed feel smoother and definately lovely and refreshed.
So i'm giving this 3 stars because the product is nice - but just don't follow the instructions as it doesn't actually do what it says on the tin!!
