Advantages: A little goes a long way and smell when applied is pleasantly fragrant

Disadvantages: Very sticky and none fragrant when you've dried off

When my Avon rep, Anita comes I find myself hiding from her but I never manage to hide for long and if she misses me she comes back and catches me on unawares! The problem is I really like her but Avon, well I don't like it very much. I have to be honest about this. I'm such a shopaholic and thus a bargain hunter that I have the time to shop around for top brand products on the cheap and what with Ebay I'm made! So to keep her happy and earning her pennies I always choose really small purchases and then if I don't like them I give them away or just keep my gob shut and grin and bear them.

I just happen to be a brand snob and I don't believe all the celebrity endorsements Avon have. I don't believe Tazmin Outhwaite uses this make up and I don't believe Louise Rednapp uses the bath and body products either. Also I'm not keen on the lack of information on the products I buy. As as example of this I bought some olive oil hair stuff and didn't know how to use it (before of after washing hair and how long to leave it on for and stuff) and I had to log on to the Avon website to find out! So I'm far from impressed but each fortnight like a lamb to the slaughter I find myself curled up on the sofa with the little catalogue and the obligatory cup of tea and find myself buying stuff I really could live without....

However...

One item I have fancied for a while was on offer for a pound a tub. Now I'm a fan of Lush shower jellies big time, 'whoosh' being my chosen favourite at the moment so this copy cat version in a large tub really excited me. Now I'd had this in my bathroom a few days and then I came on to request a link and saw the product was already added and had a negative review so in my bathroom it sat looking sadly at me. I read alot of reviews on here and I thought if someone thought it was this bad then I wouldn't bother because I do treasure my showers and baths and enjoy the experience so why ruin it with something I got for a quid?!

However I decided to bite the bullet and decided that had I have read the review first I wouldn't have purchased it, however too late now it's living in my home and too late for regrets now it has to be tried!

The Packaging....

It's a clear plastic tub with no size stated on it with a white round lid that screws on and off. The reason I have no have information is because the labeling is on clear plastic and it covers the whole tub and of course you have to take the protective covering off to open the product up so your left with just a clear tub! However on it I was told it was an Avon product, and what it was. I can see my product through it and it's an orange colour.

Using It....

The first thing that knocked me sideways was the smell. It's really, really strong. It mainly smells of honey with a slight citrus smell which is meant to be the lemon. To my nasal passages it does smell as you think the product will smell, if that makes sense but it's really sweet!

To use it I apply it to a scrunchy as I find this the best way of using it. Now beware! You need to work this piece by piece and that piece should be no more than the size of a 5 pence. If you need more add more!

This really is a jelly. It looks in the pot that it may pour out but try this (as I did) and it doesn't. It is set. Put your fingers in or take some out and it does reset itself flat and smooth.

So I put some on my scrunchy and and add some water because if you don't do this is goes on your skin in big white lumps and doesn't spread or clean you. I find if I use my hands I just waste it and use far to much and a sponge just eats it. Sorry but I'm all for economy!

It lathers up really quickly and gives loads of thick foamy white lather. It's highly fragrant when washing with it and it's fantastic for shaving. My razor blade, I thought had almost had it and I was ready to replace the blade but it gave me a wonderfully close and smooth shave.

I made sure I really washed it off after reading the other review. I stood under the shower for ages just letting the warm water rinse off all the residue for ages and was impressed that I felt mega clean, I'd used hardly any product at all from my tub and my body felt as smooth as a babies bum! I was so pleased... until....

I got out and dried off! Wow did I feel clammy! That clammy feeling soon gave way to feeling sticky as hell. I needed the loo did my business and jumped off the toilet to continue drying myself off and I nearly removed my bum cheeks as my skin stuck to the plastic toilet seat!

I dried thoroughly and couldn't get rid of the sticky feeling I felt like I was covered in jam and worse part I was going out for the evening too! I thought I was going to be late because I thought I needed another shower. So I put my dressing gown on and had a fag to think about my dilemma and rub my bottom better in which time the sticky feeling just disappeared! I felt everywhere and I was fine so I don't know what that was about.

In Conclusion...

Well the smell left my skin immediately which didn't bother me too much. I did feel clean and I was left with really nice soft and hydrated skin. Luckily the sticky feeling vanished and I had no further problems but the baffled feeling stayed with me for quite a while so much so it was the first thing I mentioned to my friend who laughed at my sore bottom from the escapade.

I think it's ok and suitable for the whole family and like I say I felt it moisturised my skin well but watch out for that sticky feeling and don't do as I did! It does go itself but odd whilst its happening!

Not bad just a tad odd!

I got mine for a pound and it's exclusive to Avon! The jury is out if I would buy it again though, I'm not sure my delicate bottom can take any more action quite frankly!

£2.50 is bought singly and it's not on offer but it usually is.
Exclusive to Avon

Summary: A honey and Lemon Jelly!
