Improves the appearance of cellulite AND stretch marks? Does this sound too good to be true? Well, clearly. But I live in hope. Wouldn't it be great to be able to spend your money on just one product that could improve cellulite and stretch marks? It would. Sadly, this isn't it. Firstly, the smell of chemicals is really strong. So strong in fact that hours after I've applied the cream and through my tights I am wondering what that smell is. I am slightly embarassed to have to admit that actually that is me. Or rather it is my thighs which are still blessed with stretch marks and cellulite. So great is my need for a miracle cure for my unsightly skin that I carry on using this cream for another week, making sure I wear a stronger smelling perfume to mask the smell. A week later I examine the evidence. WHITE STRETCH MARKS: Look less obvious on application, but this is surely due to the slight orange colour which gives a slight tan effect RED STRETCH MARKS: Are still present and correct. In fact, as I give them a little poke I'm sure they are looking slightly purple now. This is not an improvement. CELLULITE: Is also still present and correct. I would love to say that it has been slightly reduced, but it hasn't. It hasn't changed one bit. My recommendation? If you have no sense of smell and you want to see a softening and slight tanning effect on your skin, this product is perfect for you. If you want a body lotion that gives you softer skin and might help to improve the appearance of stretch marks open the Avon catalogue at random, close your eyes and point, you are just as likely to hit on a product that might make a difference. If you want to reduce your cellulite, stick on your trainers and hit the gym.
This little bottle was advertised in the avon as being my miracle cure to everything i didnt like about my body, it claimed to reduce the aperance of stretck marks and celulite which is what i wanted to do so sounded absolutley fantastic to me, the price at the time i thought was reasonable at £12 compared to the more hefty price tags of other creams claiming to do the same job. I must admitt after havng tryed a few of these types of creams i was very sceptical about this actually working. The bottle is squeezy and has a flip top lid so is easy to get the cream out and wholst the cream isnt like water it isnt too thick either so does come out easily and also rubs onto your skin nicely. It did take longer than my normal moisturiser to soak into my skin which was a bit of a pain when getting dressed of a morning but a fair price to pay if it works. Once again as with most products that claim to firm the skin and reduce celulite the smell of oranges is present in the cream but not over powering and leaves very little distinct smell on my skin after use. After using the cream i have not noticed any difference in my stretch marks or my celulite which is very disapointing, it is a good moisturiser and leaves my skin feeling very nice and soft but for the £12 price tag that i payed for it i could get a lot more moisturiser for my money.
I bought this a few months before Christmas as I was going through a "fat phase" - all women have them!!! I got really self conscious of my body and was looking for quick fix ways to improve the appearance of my skin. I saw this in the Avon catalogue, which I have regularly, and it seemed to be a miracle! It removed stretch marks and cellulite in a matter of weeks. Every woman's dream!! So I bought it. I applied as instructed on the bottle but didn't notice any difference. I fought on and kept applying daily, despite it feeling quite greasy on my skin. I wanted to believe that it would work! However I am disappointed with the product as, months later, I see no improvement. The few stretch marks I have are no less visible than they were before. I definitely won't be buying this product again!
When I bought this product, I remember I was having a really bad day and feeling awful about myself, so I went crazy and spent lots of money on 'miracle' products to cheer myself up and make me beautiful! It kind of backfired though, as I then just felt bad about spending lots of money! ~About the product~ Avon's maximum body makeover is a product from the Avon solutions range, and basically claims to be almost like a miracle in a bottle. This body cream supposedly visibly improves the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks, and leaves skin looking 're-shaped and redefined'. ~Packaging~ This comes in a tall, squeezy lilac bottle, with a flip-top lid. I think the packaging looks quite cheap, and for a product that costs £12, I would expect something a little more glamorous. ~Using it~ The cream itself is a sort of peach colour and has a fairly strong, but not overpowering smell. I'm crap at identifying different scents, but to me, this reminded me of a sort of biscuit smell, with a bit of a hint of orange. The smell is OK, but not great - it's pretty inoffensive, but I don't think it's something you would sniff, and think 'wow, that's gorgeous' if you know what I mean. The scent does tend to stay on your skin a long time too -pretty much until it has been washed off. The cream is a nice consistency, not too thick or too watery, but when applying it to your skin, it does take quite a long time to absorb. As massage is believed to help reduce cellulite, I wonder if it's partially all the massaging in you have to do with this cream that actually has positive effects on the skin, rather than the cream itself. ~Results~ After finding this in a box under the bed three weeks ago, I have been using it daily. I tend to only apply this to my legs, rather than my whole body, as I would say they are my 'problem area', having both stretch marks and cellulite. Unfortunately I haven't really seen much improvement to the stretch marks on my legs, but they have been there almost ten years, and are probably beyond help now! I'm a size 8-10 but have chunky thighs and I do have cellulite, although not a huge amount. The cream didn't seem to make any difference to it at all, but I can't say I'm too surprised, maybe expecting it to disappear was asking a bit too much! On the plus side though, as well as feeling moisturised, I have also found that my skin is feeling noticeably firmer. Although, firming is not necessarily listed as one of the benefits, I have used several firming creams in the past which have had no effect whatsoever, so even if firming was not the reason I bought this, I am pleased to have found something that produces this result. ~Price~ This costs £12 for a 200ml bottle, so it's slightly on the expensive side. As it's an Avon product, it is only available from your local Avon rep, or www.avonshop.co.uk ~The Verdict~ When deciding on how many stars to give the product, I found it quite difficult. The product claims to improve the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite, neither of which it did. It does, however firm the skin, which possibly falls under the claim of leaving the skin looking 're-shaped and redefined'. As it is also expensive, and the smell is OK and nothing more, I have decided to go with 3, as it's the safe option in the middle. As a firming lotion I would thoroughly recommend it, as a product to improve cellulite and stretch marks, I would suggest you spend your money on something else.
Its an undeniable fact that pregnancy causes certain changes to a womans body, a woman with no baby bump is either very lucky or carrying a teeny tiny baby. I wasnt one of the lucky few and was huge during my 2nd pregnancy (despite actually gaining little weight, there was a lot of water!) the strain on my skin caused me to develop some stretch marks and naturally, of course, post delivery there was some loose skin. I wasnt happy with my appearance at the time, I knew the skin would improve eventually but wanted to try and help the process along a bit, alongside all the recommended exercises I decided to use Maximum Body Makeover cream, hopefully it would give my skin and my confidence the boost it needed. Avon Maximum Body makeover is designed to improve the look of stretch marks and cellulite whilst reshaping, firming and moisturizing the skin. It can be used all over the body, depending on where you think needs the work. The Cream- MBM (as I shall now call it) is part of the Avon solutions range and comes in a lilac bottle, very similar in appearance to a shampoo or shower gel bottle. It has both a flat cap as well as flat base so can be stood either way, standing on the cap end though ensures that all the cream is at the nearest end to the nozzle meaning you can get those last tricky bits of cream out. The opaque purple flip lid can be removed, making it easy to clean the nozzle should it get clogged. The cream itself is of a medium thickness, almost like a sun cream, its cream in colour and has a slight citrussy smell to it. How to- Avon recommend that you massage the cream into problem areas twice daily for best results. The amount you will need varies depending on the area of application, obviously youd need less cream for your arm then you would your thigh. My experience- I started using the cream just after I had my daughter who is now 1, applying it only to my stomach as I was already using the Cellu-sculpt cream on my legs. Ive found the cream takes a little while to absorb and also leaves a greasy feel to my hands after applying it, I hate having greasy or sticky hands so always have to wash them after using MBM. There has been little change, if any, to my stretch marks, they are however of the silver variety rather than the red variety and so the cream may have more effect on red marks. I have definitely noticed more firmness to the skin and while I can attribute the tightening to exercise and time, the firmness and improved tone seem to have been assisted by MBM. The cream also works as a lovely moisturizer leaving my skin lovely and soft after use. Unfortunately I am unable to accurately tell you at what stage I saw results, moisturizing was an immediate success, however because my body was going through the natural post-pregnancy recovery process and I was exercising etc it is difficult to say at what point I saw the change in firmness and tone. Because I was only using MBM on my stomach it has lasted me quite well, Ive only used 1 ½ bottles in the year Ive been using the cream but obviously this will vary from woman to woman, after all were all different shapes and sizes! I have found the smell quite pleasant but it doesnt last long which means you can use the product and not worry it would clash with your other perfumes or sprays. It is a very fresh light smell, not over powering or heavy at all. Sadly like all these products it requires continued use for best results (Im sure were being sucked into a marketing con here) and while I faltered early with my Cellu-sculpt cream I have been more diligent with MBM and have carried on using it. Of course a major downside to this need for constant use is the expense, if you get through the bottle quickly you could end up paying out quite a bit of money. Avon do say a bottle will have a shelf life of 12 months, so even if you can make it last by using it sparingly you would have to get a new one after 12 months anyway. Price & availability- As part of the Avon range MBM is only available via a doorstep representative, from Avonshop.co.uk or if youre lucky itll pop up on Ebay. Its rrp is £12 for a 200ml bottle. Avon regularly have special offers and deals such as 2 for 1, money off etc etc so its always best to see what offers are going at the time. Overall- Despite the lack of effect on my stretch marks Im really happy with this product, my skin is softer and firmer and I feel happier with myself. I know a lot of that will probably be down to the amount of time that has passed since my pregnancy and the subsequent rebuilding of my confidence, Im not even that bothered about the stretch marks I have now thanks to the right words and support from my other half. Still there is definite change and considering the time Ive been using MBM I can only assume that its had a hand in the improvement. I would recommend MBM to people hoping to firm up their skin although not if they want to improve their stretch marks, equally I cannot recommend it for cellulite treatment as I didnt use it for that reason and as such am unable to say what effects it may or may not have. Different products will effect different people in different ways and I am only able to comment on my experience with MBM, I hope anyone trying it has success too.
