Advantages: A little goes a long way and it soften skin slightly
Disadvantages: Takes ages to rub in and dry, smell doesn't linger and it doesn't moisturise skin enough
Of late I've been trying really hard to get touchably soft skin. I've been moisturising every day and going to a spa for a sauna, steam and a jacuzzi regularly and it's really has paid off! I'm pampered and preened and people keep saying I look glowing (though I'm skint lol).
Cos of this though I'm getting through alot of body moisturisers and me, well I like the good stuff but I'm spending the money on them! However in a way I don't mind cos least it's repaying me type of thing.
However if I can find nice products at a reasonable price I'm always up for giving them a whirl and when I spotted a yogurt pot looking one smelling of my favourite fruit (the mighty raspberry) I was dying to get my hands on a pot of the stuff! (This is also available in a blackberry option as well by the way!).
The Packaging:
It's a 200ml plastic clear pot with a clear plastic lid that simply and easily twists on/off to the top of it. Around the main of the pot there is clear film on it and on the front of that there is a picture of what appears to be yogurt and a raspberry. I'm told on the front that it is indeed Avon Naturals renewing Raspberry Moisturising Body Yogurt (and I'm told that again I assume in a foreign language) and the size is stated. Around the back of the pot I'm told a little about the product, directions for use are given, a warning is stated (again I'm told all of the above information in other languages), then ingredients are listed, the recycle symbol is displayed and finally contact details for Avon are given. When I first saw the pot I thought what a nice size and design it was. However the label slides off easily and me, well I want the label on my pot and it keeps sliding off as I'm using it. Apart from that yes it's nice enough and I like being able to see the 'yogurt' through it.
Me Using It:
I couldn't wait to use this so stripped and clean I was poised lying on my bed with this in my hand.
In appearance this does remind me of a thick smooth yogurt. It's a very light pink colour and looks wobbly and isn't too wet and appears rather rich. Smell wise though it doesn't smell as nice I was expecting and certainly to me, not edible. Don't get me wrong it smelt vaguely of raspberries but not in the way a usual yogurt does! It smells sweet, creamy and fruity and isn't in your face in the fragrance stakes.
Using it though I found to be a bit of a nightmare. I took a blob out of the tub and placed it on my skin and immediately it seemed to lose it's rather firm consistency and melt with my body temperature and go to feeling rather greasy. What made it worse was that I really had to rub it in and it took me ages (so use the less is more approach with this if you buy it!). Every-time I looked back at where I had moisturised I saw some moisturiser residue begging me to re-rub and then when I had done I felt wet and there was no way I could dress for a few minutes.
When it did dry it sank into the skin well and didn't leave any residue at all. Skin was left a little bit softer though not all that much so and the light initial smell actually vanished within a few minutes completely.
Verdict:
A not so easy to use moisturiser and me I simply want to waft some moisturiser on and get on with my life. For me this took me too much hanging about waiting to dry and after all that didn't do all that much for my skin. It isn't terrible but it really does feel rather economy and when it comes to stuff I put my skin I want and need better from a moisturiser or it's not worth the time and effort it takes me to apply it!
Only available from Avon usually priced at about £3.00 a tub but do look out for this when it's on offer (which more often than not it is) if interested!
Summary: An economy buy in every way!
