The African Shea Butter Gift Set from Avon's Planet Spa range is an ideal Christmas present or pampering treat for yourself over Christmas. I am not convinced that this represents the best value it could do however as you cannot buy the individual components, I do not think the £5 should be viewed as an unreasonable price tag that puts you off purchasing this if it is something you really like.

Each gift set comprises of an orange mesh bag with a material strip running down the middle that reads "Planet Spa". This is actually a really pretty little purse-sized bag that is ideal for use afterwards by the recipient as a make-up bag for keeping inside their handbag. Alternatively it could be used as a small toiletries bag for holidays.

Inside the bag there is a 75ml tube of Planet Spa Shea Butter Hand and Cuticle Cream as well as a pair of moisturising gloves. The idea of this gift set is that the recipient applies the hand cream liberally to their hands and then wears the moisturising gloves over the top to help their hands absorb some extra moisture.

I should note that I have not actually tried this with the hand gloves however I have tried this with the moisturising socks that Avon do with a similar Planet Spa product and found it to be extremely effective. I have also tried this exact hand cream before and found it to be very good quality. I do not actually like Shea Butter unfortunately which is why I do not use this hand cream on a regular basis however that is because I do not like the scent, the actual product is extremely good quality.

For £5 this is a nice gift set for someone you know would really use this. As a token present I would recommend looking for something that gives you a little bit more for your money though.
