Advantages: Nice smell, cheap price

Disadvantages: None

I was talking about dry skin on my feet recently when my mum mentioned a brilliant product from Avon that she used and offered to get me some.

The product in question is Planet Spa African Shea Butter foot and elbow cream with AHA. The shea butter is said to relieve rough, dry heels and elbows and soften calluses. The AHA's provide extra exfoliation.

The Planet Spa range is part of Avon's Wellbeing section. They say that, "Wellbeing brings you a whole new way of living - centred, balanced, healthy and relaxed. From skincare infused with the power of plants Wellbeing offers you everything you need to make your home a sanctuary. Create a place to exercise, relax, unwind, re-energise your body and soothe your spirit with Wellbeing." Planet Spa allows you to creat your own day spa in the privacy of your bathroom. Avon say it is packed full of premium ingredients with with contemporary spa formulas.

The foot cream comes in a round plastic tub and contains 75ml. The cream has a beautiful cocoa smell to it, a very rich and luxurious smell. It is quite strong and the scent lasts for a long while so you do have to like the smell I think. The lotion itself is not as thick as I thought it would be. I generally think of a shea butter as being quite thick but this is a bit thinner than other shea butters.

The cream does not come with any instructions on it which is a bit disappointing. I think this is probably because the cream is quite inexpensive and so does not have much information on it. However, I think we pretty much all know what to do with a butter like this so it's not too bad but some instructions like apply twice daily for example would be handy.

The cream is easy to use. I just use a dollop and apply it to my feet. You can also buy some socks from Avon that go with this product to put on your feet after using this cream so the cream stays on your feet and does not rub off and allows it to actually work. These socks seem to keep the feet well moisturised long after application so I definitely recommend investing in these too.

After using my feet do seem quite soft and moisturised and some of the dry skin has disappeared. The cream also keeps my feet quite fresh as well which is nice. A 75ml tub of this cream is currently selling from Avon at £2.50 which I think is an absolutely bargain. It normally sells for £4.50 which I think is still a great price so definitely a plus from me, a good product at a great price.

Summary: Planet Spa Foot Cream from Avon
