a lovely light summer body lotion

Recently I was given a Planet Spa gift set from Avon containing four of their most popular products - one of which was the Thailand Lotus Flower Luxuriously Light Body Souffle. I have always liked the Planet Spa range from Avon and although I've tried many of the products from the range, this was the first I had tried in the Thailand Lotus Flower fragrance.

The product usually comes in a round plastic tub with lilac accents, however mine came in a tube. I suspect it was just packaged this way for the gift set so that it would fit nicely with the other three products which were also in a tube format. I think I actually prefer a tube, as having long nails I usually end up with more product under my nails than on my skin when I have to scoop it out of a tub.

I should perhaps explain that 'body soufflé' is simply a fancier term for body lotion. I can understand why they call it soufflé though, because it does have a rather light, whipped texture to it, and does remind me slightly of egg whites which have been whipped to make meringue.

The body soufflé has a very light, floral fragrance to it and as well as lotus flower, it also reminds me of orchid. I don't usually go for floral fragrances, but this one is incredibly soft and delicate and I think it smells quite luxurious. Although it's a light fragrance, it does linger on the skin and I can usually smell this for the rest of the day after I've applied it.

The 'luxuriously light' part of the name made me think that this would be a good product to use at the moment with the weather being so warm. I did find that this smoothed across my skin very easily and does indeed feel very light. On a more negative note it can take a bit of massaging in before all the white lotion disappears into the skin.

After around a minute the soufflé absorbs fully and doesn't leave any stickiness on the skin. I do find it very moisturising and it's great on the drier patches of skin I have such as elbows, knees and feet. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth too which is a bonus and despite having eczema I've experienced no irritation from using it.

A 200ml tub of this normally retails at £6.50 however it is currently available for just £3.25 on the Avon website, www.avonshop.co.uk

Overall I have been very pleased with this product and would happily buy another one when mine runs out. It smells lovely, is moisturising and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. A definite recommendation from me.
