Advantages: Senses shower gels all smell lovely, the lather is nice and it makes my skin feel very clean
Disadvantages: ---------
I have just had a shower in my favourite shower gel, Avon Senses. I am using the Romantic Kiss bottle today because it is sunny outside and I am in the mood for flowery perfumes.
Avon Senses shower gel comes in a pink 250ml bottle that is see through so you can see the shower gel inside. They have decorated the back of the curvy oblong bottle with a hearts and flowers design that matches the small silver heart on the front. It is called Romantic Kiss and it looks like a lot of thought has gone into the bottle to make it look romantic. The bottle has a flip top lid that is very easy to open even with one hand but not so easy that the lid flies open every time I drop the bottle in the shower. The lid is pink and matches well the colour of the shower gel and the whole bottle design.
I love the smell of Romantic Kiss because it is pretty and floral. It says on the bottle that this is a magnolia and jasmine shower gel and I can smell the jasmine a little bit and it gives it quite a heady aroma that smells much posher than the rest of the Senses shower gels. I cannot smell the magnolia but there is a lovely general scent of flowers under the jasmine. It also smells quite sweet and reminds me of the Impulse body sprays.
I use a natural sponge in the shower and I think this makes my Senses shower gel lather much better than if I just washed myself using my hands. It is a quite thin gel and comes out of the bottle very easily but does not come out too quickly so that I lose most of it in the shower. It has a nice texture while it is still gel and it lathers up very well on my sponge. The lather is thick and creamy and quite rich considering this is a cheap Avon shower gel. It made my skin feel very clean after I had used it and left me subtly perfumed with this lovely floral fragrance.
Avon Senses shower gels always dry out my skin but then my skin is so sensitive that most shower gels I have tried make my skin dry so it is not a problem because I always slather myself in a rich body moisturiser or baby oil after I shower. It does not make my skin any dryer than it was before I got in the shower but there does not seem to be any moisturising ability at all in Romantic Kiss.
I do like that my skin smells of the floral fragrance for quite a long time after I have got out of the shower and if I use an unfragranced moisturiser then I can still smell it for a while. It also leaves me with a nice clean scent which I like because it is that just showered smell and makes me feel very clean through the day.
Avon Senses is available in 6 other fragrances and they all will do something different for you. The purple one is relaxing, the orange one will wake you up and this one is supposed to be sensual. Now, I think I am a bit old for sensuality but it is definitely nice and musky and I can see what they were trying to do.
The other varieties are:-
Divine Time
Get Ready
My Moment
On Power (this is the mens Senses shower gel)
Re-charge
Spring Sensation
The price for a 250ml bottle is usually £1. 60 or you can buy the bigger 500ml bottle for £3. You can buy it from your Avon lady or direct from the Avon website but I think you are better to buy from the Avon lady if you can find one because you do not have to pay the delivery charge. Also keep an eye out on the special offers and stock up then because Senses is on offer very regularly and at the moment I think it is on buy any 3 for £4 which is quite a good saving although I have seen it even cheaper at times.
Summary: If you look out for special offers you can find these very cheap indeed
