Advantages: Delicious invigorating aroma, a thick easy to use gel, cleansing
Disadvantages: ----------
I am a big fan of Avon Senses Shower Gel so when I saw their new summer range I bought a bottle of each to try. I've enjoyed using all of them, with Beach Party being my ultimate favourite - until now!
This Water Babe Shower Gel is so freshly scented that it's a delight to use and completely appeals to ladies such as myself who enjoy a crisp, unadulterated scent as much, or perhaps more, than those shower gels which have been overloaded with fragrance.
In the shower I was pleased with the amount of lather this produces when used with my sponge, there are neither too many nor too few bubbles to wash with and those I ended up with felt luxurious and very cleansing on my skin.
The fragrance is wonderful. Avon tell me that Water Lily and Grapefruit have been used to create this delightfully fresh aroma, it's a rather feminine fragrance despite the bottle looking as though it would be suitable for both sexes and I doubt many men would feel comfortable using this one due to the sweet perfume of the gel which lingers for a while after my shower.
The fragrance itself is ever so slightly floral and has a vague citrus aroma which comes through more as I am showering rather than initially from the bottle. I cannot say I can actually pick out either the scent of lilies or grapefruit but the two very different fragrances combine beautifully to give me a delightfully light and fresh showering experience.
The cleansing properties of this shower gel are excellent. After showering I feel squeaky clean and every particle of dirt has been removed from my skin. The citrus addition in the gel left me feeling refreshed after my shower and although not enough has been used to give it a zingy feeling, I do believe that the grapefruit has helped make my shower a little more invigorating than usual.
The consistency of this shower gel is perfect in my opinion, as are the rest of the shower gels in the Senses range. It's thick enough not to drip everywhere when I come to use it, yet not so thick that I cannot comfortably get a lather from it whilst transferring it from my sponge to my body.
Overall I'd say this is yet another winner from the Senses range. I have used most of their varieties now and have to say this is certainly one of my favourites due to the pleasant fragrance and effectiveness at cleansing my skin. I have not experienced any irritation since I began using this and it rinses from my body extremely easily meaning there is no sticky residue when I come to dry myself after showering.
A 250ml bottle of Water Babe shower gel is usually £2, although the entire Senses range is very often on special offer at half price or BOGOF. In the current brochure you can choose a Senses gel free when you purchase selected bath and body products, so a perfect opportunity to sample this delightful new offering.
Summary: Another excellent Senses Shower Gel from Avon.
