Advantages: Keeps mozzies away, sinks in fast, really light and non-greasy.

Disadvantages: -

Avon fusions body oil is part of the ''skin so soft'' range launched in 1961 as a bath oil and has since grown to incorporate a range of products. It is a really light and non greasy moisturising oil in a spray bottle, it is so light it barely even needs rubbing in. The fusions oils have two layers of oil which activate when shaken together.

I first bought ''avon skin so soft fusions dual softening body oil'' when i read on the gapyear.com forums that the body oil also works as an insect repellent (somehow!) anyway a lot of backpackers were raving on about it so I thought I'd try some.

Three weeks in kenya- perfect place to try it out. Previously i had used boots brand insect repellant (the one in the grey bottle) and it smells really not too nice, so i was pleasently suprised when i found this actually stops things from biting you as it smells so nice, I cant pin-point the smell but its alot like a perfumey type of smell. I love it though the smell reminds me of being in africa now.
Anyway I started off wearing it on a night and woke up to lovely soft skin every morning (watch out for sunburnt bits though it contains alcohol and can sting) and no mozzie bites. I was a bit conscious at first so i wore the boots repellent as well. A week in i visited a village and just put on my boots bug spray stupidly thinking biting things only come out at night, SO many sand flies. I came back covered in bites for the first time and last time whilst i was there cause after that i always used the avon oil. Its really suprising how good just a normal product can be for something you waste pounds and pennies on every holiday when you can have moisturisation and repellent in one! (and not stink!)

Summary: Smells nice, keeps nasty bugs away, non greasy, easy apply.

I used this when I went to Scotland (as stupid as that sounds..) because I was doing some hiking thing and we were surrounded by mosquitos... Certainly kept them at bay, and I was one of the least bitten people on that trip! Good review! x
