Advantages: great insect repellant
Disadvantages: not the best moisturiser in the world
I am a sucker for insect bites - I must have very sweet tasting blood because I get covered in the things.
This was recommended to me in February whilst in India after having to visit the doctor on the third day due to agonisingly painful bites. I was using deet. The ladies who recommended it subsequently gave me a bottle - human kindness still exsists!
I used it religiously along with the friends I was holidaying with, and I think if I got bit once or twice in this time I can't even remember it... frankly one or two is a vast improvement from 15+ per day.
It comes in an attractive bottle with a spray nozzle on the top. It is easy to apply and for my purpose I could reach every area of my body without support as it didn't need to be rubbed in. There was some left after 6 days and that was with 3 adults using it regularly (at least twice daily).
As for the product as a moisturiser. I found it just a little greasy and almost hard on my skin. However it does dry in quickly which is a bonus. I don't use it in the UK, but I have ordered two bottles, one for my upcoming holiday (which I have yet to book, but jumped at the chance when it was on offer at £1.75 in the recent AVON catalogue) and one for a colleagues partner after he mentioned she suffers from a similar problem.
Summary: A must in anyones holiday luggage

- 15/07/09 Goodness this sounds one for me. Yeah they love my blood also. I went to turkey last year and took vitamin B6 the whole time I was there and did not get one bite. It makes you sweat the smell of it but it works also. This sounds good also though. Thanks for recommending it. |

- 15/07/09 They used to make a wide range of products in this fragrance. Sadly they don't seem to any more :-( |
