Advantages: donating to charity, light and pleasant scent,
Disadvantages: nothing to write home about
Avon has been doing its "Skin So Soft" range for many years, but the "Soft and Sensual" fragrance has not been available for so long. At the moment, the Creamy body wash is on offer for £2.00, which is £1.00 off it's normal £3.00 price, not only that but for every sale, 30p will be donated to Breakthrough Breast cancer.
I was first introduced to the Creamy body wash when a friend made me a gift hamper with various Avon and other products in it for my birthday. I like all other women enjoy having nice smelling products for the bath and the shower, and I hadn't tried this before so I was quite eager to try it to find out if it did make my skin so soft.
The carton is pale pink, with a deeper pink base which has a flip opening. I prefer this upside down approach with the bottle standing up on the opening, because it means you can get the stuff out of the bottom of the bottle when it is getting low without having to wait half an hour for it to trickle down, whilst you're standing in the shower.
The front of the carton has Avon, and a logo involving three letter S's and the words "Skin So Soft" and Creamy body wash in english German and French. Below that has "soft and sensual" which is the fragrance, as opposed to the original skin so soft fragrance which I believe was called "woodland fresh". It also has the Breast Cancer crusade pink ribbon.
On the rear of the bottle it says "With Softness Delivery System. Provides long lasting moisturisation to nourish skin all day. Use washcloth or sponge to massage over body."
There is information about checking your breasts for cancer, recommending that the perfect time to do this is in the shower. The recycle symbol is there, and that it is a 250ml bottle.
When you open the bottle, and gently squeeze, a very pale pink creamy liquid comes out. I use it with a bath scrunchy, and so that way a small amount goes a long way. When I massage it into my skin it makes plenty of bubbles, and releases a light pleasant sweet fragrance, nothing too strong, which I like for everyday, as it means you can use whichever perfume or bodyspray you like and it won't clash with this. It is a sweet soapy smell, difficult to describe because there is nothing outstanding about it, it's vaguely floral rather than fruity or spicy, but it isn't a scent that you would be able to pinpoint, such as vanilla or citrus, or rose, just pleasant and sweet.
The one squirt on the scrunchy does the whole of my body, and there is plenty of lather left. I feel clean and refreshed, with no sticky residue. Does my skin feel soft? Yes, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it felt nourished. It certainly didn't have any tightness or dryness, but I don't suffer that badly from dry skin, so I'm not sure if it would be good for someone who did. I don't feel it would be absolutely necessary to use a body lotion after using this creamy body wash, but I probably would anyway, mainly because I like to feel pampered!
All in all, its a pleasant light everyday body wash, but nothing to write home about. Its usually on offer, so I wouldn't pay the full £3.00 for it, I would wait until it was on offer, before considering it again, but I would get it again. I like the idea that it helps the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity, although that wouldn't sway me into buying it, if it weren't a good product in itself.
Summary: a good product when it's on offer
