A few days ago I read a review by 'tange' about a product made by Avon called Sleeptherapy and I realised that this could be exactly what I was looking for so I decided to find some to try.

I originally intended to access the Avon website to find this product but suddenly had a brainwave and headed for EBay instead. Here I found two of the sprays for 99p plus £3.50 postage making the total £4.49.

The sprays cost £4 each if purchased from Avon so getting two for £4.49 was quite a bargain! Yes, I know they are 2 for £4 at the moment on the Avon site but they won't be on offer for ever will they?

Why was I so desperate to buy these?

A friend of mine bought me a Radox pillow spray some years ago and it was wonderful but they have stopped making them now. Add to that the fact that I am not sleeping well at the moment as my mom died last week and it has hit me really hard and you will understand why reading tange's review made me sit up and take notice.

What does it look like?

The spray arrived in a very classy looking box. It is in shades of blue with clouds and stars to represent the night sky. On the front is simply says 'AVON Sleeptherapy goodnight pillow spray'.
The 125ml spray itself is made from metal with a plastic pump action spray screwed into the top covered by a plastic cap. It's all recycleable then! The front of the spray container is the same as the front of the box.

How do you use it?

You just have to spray onto fabric from a distance of about 15cm and then allow it to dry. You can also spray it towards the centre of the room making sure you keep it away from your face and body.

What does it do?

Although it doesn't actually say so on the box the spray is supposed to promote a good night's sleep. The fragrance is a light lavender smell but there's something else in there - it is something sweeter but I can't place it. Overall the smell is very light and not at all sickly or sweet.

So does it work?

I sprayed it on my pillow and the first thing to say was that I loved the smell! It isn't quite as nice as the now unobtainable Radox one but it comes a very close second.
It dried quickly and remained nice and light as a fragrance. If it was too heavy I wouldn't be able to sleep with it on the pillow, but that wasn't a problem. I definitely slept better that night. It may have been coincidence and maybe I would have slept better anyway as I began to get things sorted.
I used it again the following night and had another good night's sleep. Mind you I do find myself keep sniffing long and hard because it smells so nice!

What's the bottom line then?

Well I can't be sure that it was the pillow spray that helped me sleep; it may have been coincidence, but the fragrance was lovely and it did help me to relax so I shall be using it on a regular basis from now on.

Don't forget the recycling!

The cardboard box goes in the cardboard recycling, the metal container in your green box with the cans and the plastic tops in the plastic bank. Brilliant!
