After having my daughter in August 2009, and breastfeeding for 6 months my breasts have never been the same! I was always an ample cup size so of course when I became pregnant they ballooned to an enormous size and after 6 months of a baby having her way with them they did what all normal woman's boobs would do (unlike these celebs like Heidi klum and the like) they drastically ventured south. I'll admit this knocked my confidence slightly and I would not remove my bra with any lights on lol! They are not as bad as some peoples I'll admit but they are nowhere near as perky as they were when I was younger and I missed their fullness and pert-ness! Anyway short of shelling out funds I don't have on a breast augmentation (I'm not particularly pro-plastic surgery unless it's burn victims or life threatening etc but sometimes I think if I had the money I probably would pay for a boob job!) I decided to shell out a few pounds on a simple product in the hope it would boost them up a little bit. When I saw this in the Avon catalogue I decided to give it a try. The packaging states this "luxurious gel works as a liquid bra, to help firm and tone the skin around your bustline for irresistible curves". Directions are to apply this every morning to the bust in an upward motion and wait 30 seconds before dressing. Right, now that protocol is out the way I can confirm that the entire product is a load of nonsense! I don't like to think of myself as a particularly gullible person but I wanted to give this product the benefit of the doubt. I religiously applied this gel to my bust in an upward direction with ample amounts each morning for about 3 months and noticed no difference at all! Of course my bust has lost some elasticity from what it has gone through and I had hoped this would make my bust slightly firmer, but it did nothing of the sort. I didn't expect it to be some kind of miracle product, and the packaging states no time span when users will begin to notice a difference but I reckoned 3 months was a substantial amount of time if I was ever going to notice even a tiny spectre of improvement. This product comes in a grey-ish tube with purple writing. The tube is see through under light so you are able to see how much of the gel is left. It is an opaque but pinky/purple-ish coloured gel of quite thick consistency. It smells rather strongly and almost like melted plastic silicone or something of the like. I bought this product from an Avon rep, a 150ml tube costing around £8 but often fluctuates as the brochures often feature deals on other products in the Avon solutions range so can mix and match, perhaps getting 3 items for £10 and so on. As an overview however I would not recommend this product at all. If anyone else is hoping for a slight improvement in the firmness of their bust or the tightness of the skin around this area they will be just be wasting their time and money. I advise you to save the change and perhaps try a better brand or just wear a good bra at all times like I do :)
--- The Claim--- On the website: "Over time, skin starts to sag and lose elasticity. In just 1 week this advanced gel formula makes the bust feel firmer and more toned and gives a lifted look." On the packaging: "This luxurious gel works like a 'liquid bra' to help firm and tone the skin around your bustline for irresistible curves. Allergy tested. Hypoallergenic. Suitable for sensitive skin. ---The Basics--- Cost: £10 (occasionally available half price) Size: 150ml Availability: From your Avon Representative or online at www.avonshop.co.uk ---Worth Mentioning--- This product replaced Avon Firm & Sculpt Bust Contouring Cream. I haven't actually tried the previous product but from all accounts it was rated highly by consumers, coming second in a consumer poll featured on Gok Wan's "How To Look Good Naked". With that in mind, I had high hopes for this product. Also it clearly states on the packaging - CAUTION: Keep out of the reach of children. I'm not one to leave any products within reach of my curious four year old but just a reminder for others to stay safe! ---The Packaging--- This product comes in a squeezable tube with a stand up lid on one end. This makes it easy for the product to stand on your bathroom shelf and has the added bonus that there is always product right at the lid end for easy access. Think the opposite of most tubes of toothpaste! Other than that the pack design is fairly uninspiring to be honest. ---The Product--- Instructions as per packaging: "TO USE: Every morning, apply to bust in an upward motion. Wait 30 seconds, or until product absorbs completely, before dressing." The gel looks slightly pink when you look at it at the top of the tube but loses that appearance immediately when squeezing some out onto your hand and instead looks clear. It is lightly scented with a fragrance I can best describe as similar to hairspray! ---Application--- I applied as per the instructions on the packaging and found the gel to be quite cold, this can be pleasant on a hot day but I would recommend warming slightly on your hands if it's a bit chilly! The first time I applied the product I waited 30 seconds but the product still felt very wet. After a couple of minutes it felt tacky and it dried completely after about 5 minutes but still felt ever so slightly tacky. Furthermore after a few hours it started to flake which was definitely not the result I was after! I persevered and after a bit of trial and error over the next few applications I did manage to get drying time down to a few minutes with no flaking; I do think it's a matter of how much you use. Think minimalistic as opposed to liberal application and definitely not something to do in a rush! ---Results--- Don't expect an overnight miracle as you'll be sorely disappointed. The gel does give a tighter feeling to the skin but there are no visible results immediately. After one week I felt the same. After 2 weeks, it's fair to say that there appeared to a very slight difference to my bustline. After 6 weeks any improvement noticed in the second week did not really get any better and stayed about the same. I'm a 32E and in pretty good shape anyway but I had hoped for a more noticeable difference. ---Recommendation--- I'm going to give this product a rather miserable 2/5 because I'm just not that impressed really. As stated it lasted about 6 weeks so in that respect it is pretty good value especially if you manage to get it half price. Results though which, at the end of the day, is what this product is all about are so minimal that the faffing about every morning is just not worth it. I'm not planning to buy this product again and my recommendation would be to spending 5 minutes doing exercises that will strengthen your pectoral muscles instead. Easier, less messy and free! That said, the reviews on the Avon website are very much a mixed bag with some people feeling similar to me and others reporting decent results, so it may be the case that this will work for some people and not others.
Whenever the Avon lady pushes a brochure through my dorr, ii always feel obliged to buy something, and this time this product was on offer, so i decided id give it a go Although there is nothing wrong with my bust, i was intrigued by the idea of a "lifting gel" so i brought a bottle thinking that because of the cheap price, the bottle would only be small to my surprise, when the avon lady delivered it i was shocked to see a larger bottle than expected, (150ml) The squeezy tube is not really very attractive, but i suppose this suffered so that the product could be cheaper. It is a squeezy bottle (you can get every last bit) which is white, with purple wrting on it. Granted they have tried with the packaging, experimenting with different fonts but its not one of avons finest As it stands on its lid, there is always some ready to come out of the bottle and it stops the hassle of having to shake the bottle so that you can get the last bits out. This product could last a lifetime! it doesnt absorb well in to the skin - which it isnt meant to do - but sits on top and drys withing about a minute. You only have to use a tiny dollop, and no more or you find your washing it off your hands. The effect is has is that it seems to tightne the skin, which does infact give the appearance of a "lifted bust" but when wearing a bra, it bears no effects at all. Using this product for a longer period of time helps with the toning of the bust and it does actually work
