      True Glow

As well as a bottle of Avon's True Glow perfume, I also got several of the matching body products for Christmas in a little gift set. One of these products was the Radiant Body Lotion.

The body lotion comes in a yellow and orange tube which has a screw off lid. Personally I think a flip top lid would have been a lot better, that way you wouldn't have to worry about screwing the cap back on with greasy hands.

Along with this and the perfume, came a True Glow Shimmer Spray. Therefore, when I applied this lotion and realised that it contained shimmery particles, I must admit I was a little bit surprised, as I hadn't expected two products that do exactly the same thing, although thinking about it, that's probably why it's called 'radiant' body lotion.

The shimmer in the lotion comes from lots of tiny little gold particles that it contains. When you put this on the skin it doesn't look completely over the top or glittery, it just gives the skin a radiant look, and you can only really notice the shimmery particles if you get close up. It sinks into the skin quite quickly after application too, but you will be left with shimmery traces on your fingers, so you'll need to remember to wash your hands after using this!

The smell is the same as the True Glow perfume I have also reviewed, but a little bit softer. It's a really nice scent - a sort of citrussy floral, with woody undertones. It has a bit of an organgey-ness to it, but isn't sharp or overpowering at all. I'd say it's quite a summery scent, and I imagine this scent would be lovely in the summer.

The first time I used this lotion I found that it seemed to make my skin feel quite dry, which was unusual as obviously it's a product designed to moisturise the skin. I also found that my skin felt quite tight and itchy after using it. I did apply a little bit to my arm a few days later, and found that it was fine, and have since used it more liberally and found that it leaves my skin feeling moisturised and supple. My only thoughts on why I initially seemed to have a reaction to it, is perhaps that I already had something on my skin at that time which it reacted with.

The lotion usually costs £3.50 for a reasonably sized 150ml tube, but is currently half price at just £1.75 on the Avon website - www.avonshop.co.uk

Overall this was a nice product. It smells lovely and gives a lovely subtle glow to the skin, but I think personally I would prefer if they made a lotion with this scent, but no shimmer, as I feel it's more a product for evenings out, than daytime use.
