Advantages: Looks lovely in it's pot!
Disadvantages: Doesn't do a great deal
B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful is Lush Cosmetic's younger, sexier little sister (it's also alot more expensive and posh than Lush is). B is not available in the US or any other country other then jolly old England.
The store is something to behold and if you happen to live in London or are visiting do drop by 39 Carnaby Street for the full effect! It's gorgeous and you'll leave the store about £1,000.00 poorer while wiping the drool off your mouth and trying to snap yourself back into reality. I wish I had photos of my visit but sadly I do not!
If you're expecting something similar to Lush you'll be shocked to learn this is NOTHING like Lush. It's completely different. B consists of vegan friendly cosmetics, perfume, bath and body items. It's mostly popular for it's bejeweled cosmetics but it also has quite a cult following when it comes to it's very different perfume line!
Keep It Fluffy is B's best-selling perfume, and for several years, its fans have clamoured for a matching body lotion. Enter Keep It Fluffy Body Lotion, launched for Christmas 2006 (and though intended as a limited edition item, it has been kept on as a permanent item.) I bought my pot in the London store, I am a huge fan of the perfume and thought i'd treat myself to a nice lotion - a change from my usual Lush lotion!!
Upon opening the lid of this sturdy but darling rose covered glass jar, you're hit with the aroma (and appearance) of vanilla frosting, a gorgeously girlie blend of vanilla, jasmine, and ylang ylang. However, despite its rich appearance and texture, being that it only contains lighter almond and grapeseed oils, you'll find that short of an incredibly liberal application, it's not quite as moisturising as you perhaps expected. Which of course when you like an item so much and yet it disappoints you strangely find yourself disliking that product!
And with a liberal application comes the catch 22 issue of its requiring quite vigorous massage action to thoroughly blend it into the skin. The cream doesn't seem to want to sink into the skin, it stays around for quite a while. It can also leave bit of a sticky feeling on your skin. As for the fragrance, you do initially smell good enough to eat, with a full-on frosting fragrance gradually unearthing rose to add a more womanly sophistication to this otherwise playfully youthful perfume. Which you would think is great.
However, the overall scent does tend to be rather fleeting. (And to confirm, a representative from B has informed me that they have intentionally aimed for a more understated air so as not to allow the overall fragrance to become overbearing when layered with other products. Yet I can't help
but ask; what then, becomes of those who don't wish to purchase and combine multiple products? I'm all for wearing products which compliment eachother and don't clash, but I can't help wanting something pretty to sniff at, should I now want to wear a perfume.
Could B design a product that has been designed to force people to purchase additional items so as to achieve a long-lasting fragrance, when really, you can rest assured that the product in question is already pricey enough??
What B say:-
Mmmmm - infusions of rose petal and jasmine drench skin with Keep It Fluffy fragrance while a sinks-in-fast formula based on almond and evening primrose oils leave skin seriously smooth. Lavish it all over then wrap yourself in a pink fluffy robe and feel seriously cuddly.
For £12.70 you can get yourself a pot of scentless, sticky body lotion. Which is one of B's cheaper lotions but certainly isn't worth the money. I still haven't finished my pot as I just don't want to use it! I certainly don't make this a worthy buy for anyone.
Summed up, this is the type of product that you want so very much to love at first sight (and at first sniff), only to find out that it has a tendency to love and leave all who are so quickly taken in by its beauty.
Summary: Maybe one you can quite easily miss
