“ Brand: Beautilicious / Type: Body Moisturiser „
Beautilicious were a brand I was vaguely familiar with after seeing their gift sets in the 3 for 2 Christmas range in Boots and recently when I was having a clear out of the bathroom cabinet (as it contained mostly half used bottles of my lush products and bubble baths etc) I found a pink sparkly tub and was instantly intrigued. On closer inspection I identified it to be from the Beautilicious range. It definitely wasn't one of my items and my mum quickly informed me that it was hers but she hadn't used it as she thought that it was too young for her so she had put it to one side for me but forgotten all about it and it ended up shoved in the back of the cupboard. I was excited to try it as although it was described as moisturiser the word 'fudge' was involved in the title so I didn't know just how this product would work.
The tub, as I've said, is pink and sparkly so it is very girly and instantly catches your eye. It has dazzling graphics on the lid and big bold writing on the front in darker pink tones. I do love packaging especially on beauty products as I just think it instantly makes you feel positive towards using the product. The lid is darker pink and screws on top to ensure that the moisturiser does not leak out or it does not become contaminated with water etc.
Upon unscrewing the lid I was a little disappointed as I was expecting something out of the ordinary with the title saying 'fudge' I wasn't expecting no edible chocolate coated delight but I was certainly expecting a thick substance and discovered that the 'fudge' was actually a normal, thin moisturiser. Despite this I'm not one to turn my nose up at new (and free) beauty products so I used it at the next available opportunity.
I mainly use moisturiser to help the look of my fake tan applications and to maintain the colour afterwards. Therefore I always moisturise when I have just got out of the bath and my skin is dry. I scooped up a bit of the moisturiser and continued to rub it into my arms and legs paying particular attention to my knees, elbows, hands and feet. The smell was really nice and fresh and smelled exactly how it was described: toffee almond! It was very sweet but I really liked the smell and it even made the whole room smell like that. Needless to say that when I applied my fake tan I was back to smelling like a biscuit!
It really did the job aiding my fake tan applications and left my skin feeling lovely and soft each time. I really noticed the difference in the feel of my skin which was pleasing as it meant that I could feel the effects of the product first-hand.
Given that this was a gift I do not know how much this product retails for but I'd say it was similar to Soap and glory products and would be willing to pay up to £4 for this product as despite the initial disappointment with the thickness of the moisturiser I enjoyed using this product.
