Advantages: Great smell, Aluminium free and available from supermarkets/Boots

Disadvantages: Not as cheap as other deoderants.

Bionsen Deodorant.
I am going to review here, two products by Bionsen, because I believe they are so similar that for me to review them sparely, I would just end up rewording one to submit two.

I have the roll on and spray deodorant by Bionsen.
A blue liquid in a transparent bottle (roll on) or a pale blue oval cylinder spray, both products are designed to deodorise. (N/B, on application it will not leave you with blue arms- the colour seems to vanish on application so please don't let its blue colour put you off!)

It is important to remember, they are not anti-perspirant, nor do they claim to be. What they do claim is to refreshen your skin and to do so without using Aluminium.
Now I am no scientific expert, I have no real knowledge on what does and does not cause cancer. But I do know enough to know that one item which people worry about is aluminium. You see, deodorants do get tested, on animals, on plants, in lots of little science labs with men in white coats. But they do not get so much testing in real life before they go out to the general public. So what doesn't get tested is what happens say for example, if you wear deodorant daily, when surrounded by other chemicals, plaster skin with all sorts of lotions and potions and also apply the deodorant on the same spots for a cumulative effect for many many many years.

I do have to say, I do still wear deodorant with aluminium in it. I go to a gym- a lot! I wear an anti-perspirant deodorant as a matter or principal and if anything, wear enough to block the stench of one or two other gym users who seem to refuse to apply anything before leashing their fumes on the rest of the gym hall. But I do worry about what I put on my skin. I worry not just because I apply a good two coats before I start, and another half way through, but because it's on such a sensitive part of my body- my breast tissue (which reaches all around my under-arms). The one place that has the highest cancer risk. So for piece of mind, I use this deodorant in the day time, for times when I am not in the gym, for the morning before I get to the gym, and after the shower I take at the gym.

Even if there is nothing in the omitting of aluminium, it adds to my piece of mind and is something I do not regret buying. I can still smell OK, and know that that awful stench on the tube/bus train is NOT comming from me! I can also easily spray the bottle on my skin for a booster during the day without creating clouds of aerosol fumes to others around me. The spray is near noiseless, compared with the all to well know sound of an aerosol can.

The deodorant has a fresh, clean scent. It sort of reminds me of soap. But with added non-floral musk to it. I have been asked several times whilst wearing it where I get my perfume from. What I am wearing...etc etc. (I take that as a compliment!) It's worth testing a spray before you buy, but generally speaking, I have not found anyone who dislikes this scent.
The roll on is very mild, I shave, pluck/wax, epilate and use hair removing creams to get rid of the hair under my arms. After doing so, my skin remains so sensitive that it even hurts to apply baby oil to the area (even if its jut shaving). But this roll on seems to be fine to use- no problem with any stinging or pain- as long as I wait about 2 hours after waxing or using any such hair removing cream.

The spray however, is not so gentle. It is something that will make scratches sting so beware- you have been warned! I think this is the alcohol in the product. Though there is some in the roll on, it's probably not as much.

On application with either, it is slightly wetter and takes a few seconds to dry as oppose to a normal spray anti-perserant deodorant or roll on. But it's nothing major, nothing longer then 15-30 seconds at most.
The spray and roll on both last a long while. I would say they match that of any other spray deodorant/antiperspirant deodorant. They also do well to scent old smelling laundry as well- for people like me who stuff jumpers into bags and then haul them out to wear three days later- this is a great thing! Better scent then Febreeze too! They do not stop you sweating, but if I am honest, neither do the so called anit-persprant deodorants on the market. I don't think it would suit me at the gym as they do take a bit of time to dry, and as I sweat so much when I am there, this would be impossible and I'd likely just wipe the stuff off as I am working out.

It's not cheap though- around £2.50 a spray bottle, closer to £3 or an aerosol -which I think have vanished from the shelves for some reason and around £2 for a roll on. It is average, but the higher end of average, being that most aerosol cans are around £1.50 for a similar volume.-Also rarely on offer so if you see it cheap, stock up!

Summary: Well worth it!
