I have always been a big fan of the Biotherm range of products and while they are not the cheapest on the market they do represent good value and are very effective cosmetics.
The price is justified by the quality of the product and you do not feel that you are paying for fancy packaging, this is very much the case here as a 200ml bottle will set you back somewhere between £20 - £25 however the product comes in a simple white plastic bottle and a functional pump dispenser. The white bottle has simple lettering and product information on it.
The white runny liquid inside has a lovely fruity citrus smell to it which is quite rich and rather nice. It has a clear, sharp smell to it like freshly picked oranges and it is very appealing. It is really absorbent into my skin and very easy to apply it to my arms and legs. It dries really quickly.
I love the feel of my legs after using this cream, they are left feeling really soft and smooth and well hydrated as well, I also find this quite effective on my feet and especially the soles. Combine this with the lovely smell that does linger and there is a definite feel good factor about this product.
The way my skin feels after using this product justifies the price in my opinion and I would certainly recommend it for all skin types but especially those with skin that tends towards dryness.
I have been using Biotherm Anti-Drying Body Milk for about 10 years - it's amazing!
~~Where to buy~~
When I first starting using Biotherm body milk, I had received it as a present from my (now ex!) boyfriend who was from Norway. At the time you couldn't get Biotherm easily in the UK and so it was always top of my list of things to bring back when I went away.
However, the UK now seems to have cottoned on and Biotherm is widely available - not only in airports but also in House of Fraser, Boots, John Lewis etc.
~~Light and silky texture~~
The body milk has a really light texture which is instantly absorbed into the skin leaving no greasy residue at all. This is probably one of my favourite things about the product as you can get dressed as soon as you have moisturised.
The product has a delicious citrus smell (mainly orange, but also maybe a bit lemony). The scent is quite strong so I would recommend checking that out before buying, especially if you are not a fan of citrus.
~~No problems with my Psoriasis~~
One of the most important factors for me with this product is that it does not have an adverse effect on my (guttate) psoriasis - no flare ups or itchiness! I also didn't find that it had a positive effect (as other products such as E45 do), however it is not intended for this purpose and it is great for when my skin is clear.

*~*~*Beauty May Be Skin Deep, But Lets Work From The Surface*~*~*
We all have skin and plenty of it but some of us have oily skin, some have dry and very few of us have simply perfect, baby soft skin. Various skin conditions and also the weather can cause our skin to not look as healthy as it should be so we should take some measures to improve its appearance and texture where possible. We can purchase various lotions, butters and milks to get us closer to that dream skin we desire.
*~*~*Milking It Up Biotherm Style!*~*~*
Biotherm offer various lotions and creams for the face and body. One product they offer is a named "Anti-Drying Body Milk with citrus extracts". This is an all over body milk which contains moisturising agents, nourishing agents, citrus fruit essences and vitamin E.
Its purpose is to repair the skins flaky texture and allow it to build a barrier and increase elasticity. Whilst it performs these aspects, it smoothens the skin with its non greasy texture and provides instant hydration to see you through the day.
The full size body milk is housed in tall, rounded bottle which keeps in tone with the other products from Biotherm. The plastic bottle is white with blue and black writing. Underneath the click off lid, a raised neck with a small, dispensing hole is present allowing the user to squeeze the required amount out and apply to the body with ease.
*~*~*Availability and Price*~*~*
A 400ml bottle can currently be purchased on www.biotherm.co.uk for £30.15. I have had a search around and other price options include :
www.amazon.co.uk - 125ml for £9.49 or 200ml for £28.32
*~*~*My Milky Experience*~*~*
I recently purchased a huge job lot of Biotherm skincare, bath and makeup samples (mainly tubes and bottles) from ebay. I am planning to see some of them and keep others as I have a few duplicates. After my success with the Softening Toner, I was quite happy to use some other Biotherm products despite not being overly familiar with the brand.
Although the body milk generally comes in a bottle or pump bottle (400ml size), my trial sizes are 20ml tubes which focus on the same design of the bottle. I chose to use this body milk as I suffer with dry skin which goes flaky on my arms and whilst I love my perfumed body lotions and gorgeous body butters, I felt something more focussed on removing the flakiness would go down a treat. I didn't actually realise it contained citrus extracts until I used it though as most lotions designed for dry skin are usually plain scented so this was a surprise.
*~*~*Milking It For All Its Worth*~*~*
I choose to apply my body milk after having my morning shower. Dispensing the "milk" on the first occasion was strange as I had to squeeze the tube as the product was actually rather thick and resembled a lotion as opposed to a milk! Perhaps this is down to the fact that it is a tube and maybe the dispenser on the larger bottles thins it out a bit! Anyway, the milk is a vibrant, white colour and sits comfortably on my skin awaiting its fate.
The scent that appears upon application is powerful and zesty. The citrus essence is certainly aplenty and a strong, heady blend of mandarins and lemon with a touch of lime was refreshing an awakened my senses to the morning world. I gently rubbed the small blob of milk onto my arms mainly and concentrated on the extra dry bits such as the tops of my arms and the elbows. I also applied a tiny bit to my extra dry and awful looking knees which almost looked aneamic due to dryness!
The thickness of the milk soon melts and changes to a thin but stable, milky consistency. Spreading the milk becomes very easy and it gives my so much pleasure doing so due to its texture. Creamy, soothing and oh so indulgent..it isn't ultra cool like most lotions but delicately melts onto the skin like ice cream that has been sitting in the sun. My skin is content with drinking this milk up but it doesn't beg for more, it takes enough to relieve the dryness and keep itself topped up the rest of the day.
The extra dry parts of my skin need a tiny bit extra work to be fully hydrated. The milk soaks into my skin beautifully and it doesn't need much persuasion due to my skins appreciation of its hydrating properties. Once soaked into my skin, a light sheen is seen sighting on the surface but it isn't strong and just gives my skin a healthy glow which I love. The texture of my skin has developed from dry and flaky to almost baby smooth and soft. I can run my hand down my arm and over my elbow and all I feel is a silky layer which is light and no greasiness if present.
The scent of this milk is most important as it enhances the fresh and clean feeling I experience when using this milk. Although it starts off with a strong zesty notion, it does change as the milk soaks into my skin. A gorgeous strike of lemon overtakes as makes my nose tingle. Lemon isn't my favourite scent but they have captured it in a fine form. Once the milk has settled into my skin, the scent that remains is more sweety with a delicate sour hint and it sits close to the skin so does not really interfere with any fragrance i choose to spritz over my body.
*~*~*How Long Will My Milk Last?*~*~*
If I apply this in the morning, the scent will sit comfortably on my skin for an hour or two before dwindling into a very subtle, sweet trace. My skin remains silky soft for most of the day and keeps the dryness and flakiness at bay til the next morning.
*~*~*Recommendation and Conclusion*~*~*
Whilst I feel over £30.00 for 400ml of this body milk is steep, it works well and I am happy to use up the few tubes I have in my stash. It performs well on my dry, flaky skin and the citrus scent whilst a strange option, is sweet and zesty providing me with an awakening lift in the mornings.
I recommend trying this body milk :)
Thanks for reading :)
Since using up all the Biotherm products in my bathroom and being really impressed with most of them Ive been desperate to try out a few more to see if the rest of the range is just as good. Well I got my wish a few weeks ago when one of my survey sites paid out and I decided to treat myself starting with this "Biotherm Anti-Drying Body Milk" which Ive had my eye on for quite a while. Now this may come as a shock considering how many beauty products Ive reviewed but....Ive never used a body milk moisturiser!!! I wanted to try this mainly because I wanted a simple everyday lotion that just did what it promised and I know I could have gone for something a little bit cheaper but I tried to be a bit selfish for once (usually my vouchers go on everyone else!).
Price: Around 22.00 - 200ml bottle (Price will depend on store & size of bottle).
Stockists: Amazon, Debenhams, House Of Fraser & Boots.
Other Info: This lotion promises to NOT dry out skin but sink in super quick and repair any dry/flaky skin & give your skin a smooth, healthy appearance. Designed for once a day use on clean skin.
The bottle on the picture appears to have a sort of pump attached to the top but sadly mine doesnt have that - I think I would have preferred it to in all honesty so look out for that one! The one I have is simply a squeeze bottle with a very secure lid on the top. Careful though because the lotion is VERY runny and it comes out of the bottle really quickly so if your not careful you will end up wasting loads because it will drip all over the place. And at this price you want to use every bit!!
Anyway because the lotion is so thin and runny (which is what I was expecting from a body milk to be honest) it goes on really easily and spreads really easily as well meaning you dont need to use too much each time you apply. It sinks in really quickly and leaves you skin feeling fresh and clean rather and clogged up and it doesnt leave any grease at all on the surface.
But really apart from this making my skin feel slightly smoother and fresher it doesnt do much else. This certainly isnt strong enough to combat very dry skin in places like elbows and knees - I definitely need something thicker and more nourishing for my dry skin. Everywhere else it does make feel quite nice and over time my skin does feel much better but Im not sure if its worth the massive price tag - it is just a moisturiser after all. It didnt dry out my skin but it hardly nourished it either.
Theres also no smell to this at all - to be honest Id rather get a Bodyshop butter as it does a better job and smells amazing. My first experience with body milk was alright but it hasnt left me wanting to rush out and buy more. Id use it again if it was bought for me but I doubt Ill be buying a new bottle when mine runs out.
Thanks For Reading.

Last time I had some Amazon vouchers from Dooyoo I actually used them on myself this time instead of just boring books, DVDs and pressies for my sisters. One thing I brought was a bottle of Biotherm Anti-Drying Body Milk, I've had a few tester sized Biotherm items and like most of the products so couldn't wait to buy myself a proper full sized item.
I went for the Body Milk because most of the Biotherm stuff I've used before has been for my face so I was interested to see what their body moisturisers were like. It was £16.89 for a 125ml bottle but a bigger sized bottle is available for about £22.
I think the bottle is quite boring, especially because Biotherm stuff usually comes in very classy looking containers. The milk is easy to get out, it's a bit thicker than I thought it would be actually but is definately still more of a think liquid than a cream. It's got a lovely fresh smell, I know this sounds weird but it actually DOES smell a bit milky.... yeah, it's got a lovely fresh and girly smell to it but under that you can smell a delish fresh milk smell.
Because of it being a milk it's going to be thin so you're best off to just pour a bit at a time into your hand and then apply it to your skin. If you put too much in your hand to start with it'll just drip all over the place..... and not only does that make a mess on the floor but is also an expensive liquid to waste!
The milk absorbs proper quick into my skin, it's not oily at all so just a bit of rubbing gets rid of all the wetness of the milk and your skin will be left feeling soft and smooth. I can tell this is a lot more moisturising than it looks because I'd had some mad dry skin on my shins because of this weird weather but after using this for 2 weeks it's gone and now that skin feels as moisturised as the rest of the skin on my legs.
I also love the silky feel my skin gets after I've used this milk, it's more than smooth but as the milk absorbs in it leaves my skin with a kind of talc feel to it that feels mega healthy.
The moisturiser I was using before this one was a body butter from Body Shop and compared to this lovely light milk the Body Shop was like using a slab of lard to moisturise myself! This just feels nicer, I think for in the summer it's definately a lot more refreshing for my hot skin than a thick butter or cream and I reckon even when the weather gets colder I'll carry on using this because it might be expensive but it's good all round.
Recommended..... expensive but worth it!!!
As some of you may know from previous reviews I am not a fan of the biotherm skin care range, but I received a small promotional bottle of this lotion from my local chemists and so I decided to give this a try if even just for the sake of you fellow dooyoos!
The bottle looks very clinical with a plain white background some writing and a simple blue wave, I prefer this look and I found t very appealing in a skincare range that promotes itself as a scientific approach to skincare.
The large bottle comes with a pump which you press to release the cream, the promotional one was a simple screw top. I unscrewed the cap and was immediately hit with a very strong citrus smell. It was unique in that it did not smell like the usual orange aroma, that you find in many products, but rather like the real deal! It smellt like fresh orange zest and was very pleasant.
The cream is white and slightly runny but not overly so, just dont expect a thick cream or body butter. As I applied it, it absorbed very quickly and also was very easy to spread, it glided on like silk and my legs soon felt like that as well. It did not have a sticky feeling and dried so quickly that I was amazed, but it didn't feel dry, instead it felt like my legs were the softest cashmere and I couldn't stop running my hands up and down my legs, just to take in the feeling.
There is no noticeable difference in skin appearance, other then the hydration of dry spots such as your knees, but other then that, there is no gloss or shine like an oil, just a very soft supple feeling to your skin. So it looks very natural.
The orange smell is also very strong, and while it will fade after an hour or so, it is perfect if you like fresh citrus scents.
Price and Value:
Now here comes the catch, this cream is part of an expensive skincare range and 200ml costs 30 pounds, it is difenatly not for the fainthearted. But is it worth it? well if you have that kind of money then I would say yes, I have tested it against other creams, including my previous body lotion The Body Shop "White musk". I put the Body Shop cream on one leg, and the Biotherm on the other. I noticed that The Body Shop cream would take longer to dry didnt absorb as quickly and then when it would dry felt "drier" and more stretched on my skin, while the Biotherm one simply felt divine.
A brilliant product by Biotherm it does what it says, and feels and smells great as its doing the job, of keeping your skin silky smooth.
I am only giving it four stars however for the high price, which I feel is more due to markingting rather then some secret ingredient that is costly.
